The basketball missed the hoop and I blamed it. I didn't blame myself, as I should have done, but I blamed it. A tut left its home and your laugh gestured me towards you. I shook my head and threw the ball at you, ready to leave, yet all I wanted to do was stay. Stay with you. Learn from you but most of all, show you everything I could do. Show you that I was worth more than I let on. Show you that my broken pieces were made to never be fixed. I was made broken. That was who I was.
Shrugging my shoulder, I watched closely as you so gracefully sent the ball back to its home. You didn't stop and in fact, I didn't want you to. So, when it came to my turn, I merely passed the ball back to you and walked away.
Alas, it was not made for me. It was made for you, dear.
