"Dammit! It didn't seem so hard when I looked at the instructions for this!" I swore while rereading the steps to make nice puffs of icing.Yes, I was making a cake. Was I good at decorating? With fondant yes. With icing? Terrible, especially if I made the icing myself. It wasn't firm enough.
"Urgh.." I groaned resting my head on the counter. "Ha-Neul help me.."
The voice over the phone sighed. "Why are you even doing this Chacha? You could just buy one."
"Because I like to complicate everything that can be simple in my life." I said my tone showing my annoyance.
Why didn't I buy one instead? Because I knew they'd be happier with a homemade cake. "I'll just figure a way to fix this."
"Why is it so important for you to do this? Why a cake?" She asked.
I chocked on air."You don't know what day we are or what? Tae didn't tell you?"
"Knock some sense into me please." She answered probably rolling her eyes mentally at the end of the line. "I know they are 'taking ARMY to prom' but I know nothing else other than I had to choose suits for them."
I leaned against a nearby wall redoing my bun that was more of a mess than I thought and fixing my glasses who had flour all over."We're June 13th Han! It's been 5 years since their debut. We have to celebrate." I walked towards the bathroom to get a glance. "Wow.. I'll need a shower if I don't want to look like the cake itself."
She laughed. "That bad?"
I chuckled. "Yeah no kidding."
"Then.." She started. "Maybe I could come by for a clothing check?"
"I'd love that. If you plan on coming by soon, uhmm.. Can you by napkins? I'll need some to clean the mess in my kitchen." I laughed.
She returned it. "A mop too?"
I looked at the kitchen. "Nope, Ae-in got it covered. No worries it's not chocolate cake. No danger for my little baby."
"Good. I'll see you in a bit lovely. Bye!" She hung up.
I glanced at Ae-in."Guess you'll need a bath too baby huh?"

"Did you invite Ash noona?" Kookie asked while we overlooked the schedule for tonight."Why? It's a show in the middle of the week after 6pm. She's allowed not to work overtime you know." I said flipping the pages. I wanted her here, but what would she do? Sit backstage and watch something she partly helped us with?
"But it's full of surprises!" He insisted.
"I think she'll prefer a normal night for once." I thought to myself.

"Did you go to your prom Chacha?" Han asked once she arrived.I made a face."What kind of out of the blue question is this?"
"It's BTS prom party. Did your man invite you to prom?" She asked with an exagerated tone.
"The answer to both of your questions is no. Hobi is gonna be busy tonight. I don't want to get in the way. Only for the surprise cake, nothing more." I explained while I finished icing the cake.
She yelled."What? No prom? Nothing? How? Why?"
"Because I didn't have anyone to go to it with. No friends, even less a boyfriend." I answered on an even tone even if my heart hurt a little as I said it.
