Lapidot P. 2

*Lapis' POV*

I'd really like to know why Pearl and Peridot kicked me out of my own home. They said I needed to not be there until sundown. So here I am. With Pearl. Doing a "puzzle". This makes no sense, why would I want to put a broken picture back together to look at trees when I can just fly around and see them in person.
This is lame.

I spend a few hours at Steven's house with Pearl before Steven walks in.

"Hi Steven! Where have you been?" I ask, standing up and walking over to the boy.

"Oh ya know. Stufffff. I mean umm placesss" He says failing at trying not to smile. "You're needed at the barn now though."

"Oh. Okay." I turn to Pearl and thank her for keeping me company before walking out with Steven.

*Peridot's POV*

Okay. I let out a sigh and check to make sure everything is in it's proper place.

Candles, check.
Rotating music disks, check.
Limb Enhancers, check.

Steven helped "set the mood" at the barn. He brought me a bunch of "candles". Though i'm not sure why they are called that when they're jars not cans but it is what it is. We aranged them in a big circle in front of the barn with an opening by the farm so Lapis doesn't set her dress on fire when she gets here. Garnet explained to me what to do and what to feel about it, and I think i'm ready.

"Oh no here they come! Garnet! I'm not ready!" I whisper loudly in the direction of the barn. The perma fusion gives me a thumbs up and disappears into the barn. I quickly run to the music disk player and put one on before returning to the circle.

"Peridot? What are all these fire things doing here?" the blue gem questions as she walks up to me.

"So. You have been very upset recently about what happend with...you know who. You told me fusion is supposed to be special. So I figured I would attempt to make it special for you."

"Peridot..." Lapis says quietly, turning her head away from me.

"Please Lapis. I don't like seeing you hurting. I want to make it better. Steven says it's because I...care..about you..." I muble that last part.

"Fuse with me Lapis."

Lapis walks closer to me and extends her hand out.

OH mY sTARS!

We begin to dance. Her dress gracefully flowing to the tune of the music. Right when I think it might happen my limb enhancers cause me to become unstable and crash to the ground, my face turning a darker shade of green with embarrassment. Lapis begins to giggle which eventually turns into a full laugh, snorts included.

"Come here you dweeb." she says reaching a hand down to me. She helps me up and walks toward the music box taking the needle off and removing the disk.

"First off, this music is all wrong." She grabs another one from the crate and puts it on.

"Second, take those silly cans off your feet" she says giggling a little. I listen and remove the limb enhancers,throwing them to the side. This time Lapis takes the lead, swaying with me and spinning me around. She dips me and suddenly i'm looking into her ocean eyes. She whispers thank you and leans in, pressing her soft blue lips into my own.

In an instant I feel my form reverting back to light and getting entangled with hers.

We-I look at our- MY hands before looking up to Garnet, now with a huge grin to accompany the thumbs up. This does feel special.
