"Gosh, it’s like she’s everywhere”. I whisper to Trisha.
“Shut it” she said before shoving me behind her.
“When are you ever going to give up? You cannot have her”.
“I can and I will. I will kill you”. I really wanted to wipe that stupid smirk of her face.
She moved her sword forward before hitting it on the ground.
Losing my balance, I fell. I looked up and to my surprise. Trisha was still standing.
Crawling away from her, I hid behind a wall. Chase drew her sword and with a look of intent, moved with such speed, the likes of which I have never seen before.
Just when I thought Trisha stood no chance, a vine from sprang from the ground beneath Chase and grabbed her foot, giving Trisha the chance to strike.
With one hand, Chase stopped the punch as though she saw it coming from afar. The ground shook and I could feel the earth around us trembling as Chase ripped the vine holding her leg with her other hand as she grabbed hold of the vines and with such swiftness wrapped it around Trisha’s neck.
Scared out of my mind I took a step back. Shocked, I stopped.
Wondering why I would think of abandoning my friend, I did the only thing I could think of. I picked a stone and threw it at Chase.
She turned to me and the fury was evident in her eyes. At that moment, I knew I was a dead girl walking.
RUN
My mind screamed at me but I stilled. I looked at Trish, my friend, my protector. She was lifeless in Chase’s arms. Chase threw her body to the ground as if it weighed nothing.
Walking towards me slowly, I took a step back. I suddenly realized that I was going to die; I turned my back and ran.
Just when I thought I had outrun her, she was right in front of me and before I could wrap my head around the possibility of it, I was tossed to a wall.
My back immediately felt the impact of the wall. Trying to get to my feet feet was nearly impossible but somehow I did. I looked up just in time to dodge a blow from Chase.
Running away from her again was a fool’s mission and I had no thoughts of doing that. I was weak and injured.
I had no chance in hell.
Standing, as she delivered a powerful blow to my stomach, I fell to the ground before rolling around in pain.
Chase took a mini version of a sword out of her left foot, holding it in front of me.
“I told you I was going to kill you”. She said before raising her sword to finish the job.
I searched around in my final moment, hoping, waiting for any sign of help but non came.
Then I felt a surge of raw energy coursing through my veins and by sheer instinct, I let out a powerful light, so bright and hot, that it set Chase on fire.
I watched her as she screamed in pain and agony but even in pain, she summoned the strength to finish her job.
Just before she could reach me, she fell to the ground. Lifeless and engulfed with white light flame.
