Lari's Point of View~
I woke up the next morning to the wolf licking my face. "Hey, stop that." I laughed out. It backed down and handed me what was left over from its meal. "I already told you, I can't eat this or I'll get food poisoning or really sick. I bet I can at least find something that's edible to eat." I said. The wolf grumbled and placed the meat in a different place. I was hungry, so I had to find something to eat. How will I even be able to find something to eat if I can't even stand up straight? I thought. I looked over at the wolf and saw it gnawing on one of the bones. Maybe the wolf could help me? Or maybe it could help me get home! I thought excitedly. "Hey." I called out to it. The wolf turned it's head around and looked at me. "Do you think you could help me find something to eat? Or even, help me find my way home?" I asked it. The wolf got up and walked over to me. It placed its paw on my shoulder then went to the entrance of the den. I was confused about what it was doing. Then, the wolf howled a great howl. "Wh-what are you doing?" I asked. The wolf turned around and then a big deer peered into the den. It was huge and had big antlers on his head, kinda like the same deer I saw in a movie once. A buck? What's he doing here in a wolf den? I thought deer's natural enemy were wolves. And why did that buck come when the wolf howled? I asked in my head. I had so many questions, but I wouldn't get any answers from them. So, I just set them aside. The deer came close to me and laid down, it's back to me. "Huh?" I said in confusion. The deer turned his head and gestured it like it was trying to say, 'Hop on'. "You...you want me to get on your back?" I asked. The deer nodded and I was wondering why it would want me to get on. "O-okay, if that's what you want." I said a bit nervously. I stood up on my right leg and slowly got on the deer's back. It got up and walked to the entrance of the den. The air was cold and a shiver went down my spine. Then, the deer began to walk forward with the wolf following right behind. My stomach growled again and I put my hand over it to try and lower the noise level. The deer's ears twitched and turned its head. "I wonder if there's anything around that's good enough to eat." I said. The deer continued on walking, then stopped at a nearby bush. Then, the deer lowered it's head to the bush and rummaged through it. "Uh? What are you doing?" I asked. The deer continued rummaging through the bush until it pulled out a small bunch of blueberries. "F-for me?" I questioned. The deer nodded and put the berries in my hand. I looked at the deer and it's expression felt like it was saying, 'Go on ahead and eat'. "But don't you two need food too? I mean, it's getting colder and sometimes that can make it harder to find anything for food to survive." I said. The deer just stared at me. I didn't know what else to do or say, so I slowly ate the berries one at a time. "There you go, I know that those berries aren't a full meal, but they're better than nothing." Said a voice. My eyes widened and I thought, Am I hallucinating or did I just hear that deer speak to me? I looked at the deer and saw a slight smile on its face. "Am I dreaming or did you just sp-speak to me?" I stammered. "I am talking to you Lari." Said the deer. I was shocked that animals were talking to me. "But how can you talk? And how do you know what my name is?" I asked. "Your friend told me about you and your bond together." The deer said. "Can the wolf talk too?" I asked. "Why yes, I can." The wolf said. "I've never met a talking animal before, I only saw them in movies. But wait, how can you talk?" I said. "Oh, where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Hana and the deer is Lee." Said the wolf. "It's nice to meet both of you. But I want to know how you both can ta-..." I was saying before getting cut off by Hana telling us to hush. She crouched down like she was going to pounce onto her prey. Then, there was a low growling noise and I actually thought that was my stomach, but it wasn't. "Wha-what was that noise?" I asked shakily. Then, a huge mountain lion jumped out and roared. It landed right on top of Hana, pinning her down. "Hana!" I yelled. "Lee! Take him out of here! Go! Run!" She shouted. "Hana..." I said. "Go!" She yelled again. "Hold on tight Lari, okay." Lee instructed. I nodded and clutched to him tightly. But before he could make a dash, more lions surrounded us and they bared their teeth and growled. "We're surrounded!" I shouted. Lee stomped his hoof like he was about to charge. I held on even tighter and shut my eyes hoping that we'd live. Then, Lee ran like a speeding bullet and leaped right over the surrounding lions. He landed on his feet and bolted with me still clinging to him. "Grrr...get that boy!" I could hear one of those lion order. They can talk too?! And why do they want me?! I thought as Lee was running.
