Lari's Point of View~
I finally managed to fall asleep at about 4:30 in the morning. I was dreaming about what happened back in the woods, with all the lions, my true potential, and the rock slide. But then, everything faded into a blank white place. Soon, the area became more vivid and I could see golden and green flowers everywhere and a bright blue sky, the clouds in an amazing light purple shade. I didn't know where I was, but I felt safer than I did back in the woods. In the distance, I saw a person standing with their back towards me. Is that him again? I questioned myself in my head. I ran over to the person and saw that the person was, in fact, the man that I'd seen before. "What am I here for again?" I asked him. "I'll tell you, but for now, let's sit and talk." He said. And so, that's what we did.Lloyd's Point of View~
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off on my phone and I turned it off. I yawned and sat up in bed. I rubbed my eyes and went to the bathroom to wash up. I brushed my teeth and combed my hair. I put on some fresh clothes and walked to the kitchen. Skylor was making breakfast, and I helped. Soon, the rest of the kids sat down in the living room and we served them a plate with eggs, bacon, and a glass of milk or orange juice. "Kai told me what happened with you and Lari yesterday. How do you feel about it now?" Skylor said as we both sat at the table. "Well, I don't know. We never really had an argument like that, but I don't think he would actually say those things. I mean, he's been through so much and that can be a lot of pressure on someone, especially a child who's never experienced those things." I said. "Maybe you should talk to him again, I mean, if you're feeling up to it," Skylor said. I nodded and gave her a small smile. Skylor smiled back and got up from the table. When the kids had left for school, I grabbed some of Lari's favorite Fritz Donegan comics and went back to the hospital. I walked into Lari's room quietly, and I found him still asleep. I placed the comics on the windowsill and sat down in the chair. I could hear Lari's tiny snores and I wondered what he was dreaming about. A couple of hours had passed and Lari was still fast asleep. I would've thought that he'd wake up by now, it's been about two hours now. I said in my mind. And right after I had thought that Lari began to open his eyes and yawned. He sat up and stretched out his arms with no struggle which had me a bit confused. "Oh, um, morning dad." He said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Good morning Lari. How are you feeling today?" I said. "I'm actually feeling a lot better than I was before. I don't feel as much pain." Lari said. "That's good, maybe the doctor can take a look at it and see how you're healing," I said. "Hey, Dad, can I tell you something?" Lari asked as he laid back in the pillows. I nodded and came closer to him. "Well, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for being a jerk to you yesterday. I didn't mean to make you upset, I just wanted to go home so badly, and I guess I was tired of hearing that I had to stay. I hope you know that I am sorry." Lari said in a sincere tone and lowered his head. I held his chin in my hand and raised it so now we were both staring into each other's eyes. "I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have kept telling you the same things that you didn't want to hear. And I know that pain can make us do or say things that we don't mean, believe me, I've been there. I also know that you really are sorry, and I do forgive you." I said as I hugged him. Lari wrapped his arms around me and hugged back. Soon, the doctor came in to check on Lari and we told him how he wasn't hurting and the doctor seemed shocked. He said that they're going to do another MRI test to make sure of his lung and an x-ray of his skull. Right now, the doctor and a nurse were unwrapping the bandages on Lari's arms and leg. When they were removed, there were no scars anywhere. Everyone had an amazed expression on their faces. "How is that possible?" I asked. "I don't know." The doctor said. Then, they took an x-ray and the MRI tests and the results said that he was fully healed. "According to the pictures and what Lari said, he's healed, and no longer requires our care. You can take him home." The doctor said. I looked at Lari and he had a big smile on his face. "Thank you for everything you've done for us doctor," I said. "Our pleasure. Now, come with me to fill out some papers for Lari to be discharged." The doctor said. I nodded and we both walked down to the office.
