physical education. i don't mind it but it's kind of tedious for a class. seulgi and i run laps around the track like we were required to do.
"did you wanna go try that new restaurant down the street?" seulgi asked, panting. "definitely. i heard they have some really good tteokbokki." i said, while running.
"jae eun!" i heard someone's voice call from behind me. i just kept running until they grabbed my wrist. i looked at seulgi. it was park jimin.
"oh. jimin." i said, waiting for him to release my wrist. "hey jimin i heard you and minah broke it off recently." seulgi said with a smirk. "yeah..." jimin said awkwardly.
"uh jae eun can i talk to you?" i look at seulgi. "i'm going to the nurse's office. see you after, jae." she said, and walked towards the office, leaving me alone with jimin.
"what's up?" i ask. "look i appreciate it but it's just not gonna work." i have a confused look on my face. "what?" jimin scratches the back of his neck.
"well i mean after all the stuff with minah i'm just not ready to be in a relationship yet. i thought that kiss was pretty nice i guess but i don't think i'd describe it as dreamy. also i think its really nice you think my smile shines bright like the moon." i look down at jimin's hand to find the letter i wrote to him. oh my god.
"jae eun? you okay there?" i wanted to scream, to tell jimin that it was just a prank. but how can i when he already read all of it?
i look behind jimin to see seokjin walking towards us, his letter i wrote to him just two days ago in his hand. "oh my god." i said. "what?" jimin asked and i grabbed his face and kissed him, catching him off guard.
i backed away. "thanks." i said before running off towards the bathroom. i ran into a stall and my hands started shaking. "jae eun is that you?" i heard a lazy tone say.
"depends on who's asking." i say. i look down to see a pale and veiny hand sliding an envelope under the stall and my eyes widened at the name written across it.
min yoongi. it was freshman homecoming night. i remember having my hair done by jieun and my makeup done by hyejin. i was so shy too even smile, since i still had my braces. i sat by myself and watched as everyone danced.
a pale boy with pinkish hair sat next to me. "rough night?" he asked, his voice sounding tired. "oh, no. my sisters forced me to come." i said, biting my lip. "oh i know how that feels. my friends practically dragged me here." he said and we laughed.
"yoongi, do you wanna dance?" i asked, fidgeting with my hands. "oh my god jae eun! of course! i've been waiting all night." i laughed at yoongi's response and we went to the dance floor and danced all night.
"i thought you might've wanted that back since it seemed pretty personal." yoongi said. i stepped out of the bathroom stall and faced him. well looked down at him since i'm taller.
"listen yoongi--" i started. "that night was really amazing. and i appreciate the letter but, you know i'm gay right? and that jung hoseok is my boyfriend?" i did not. "of course." i say.
--
i speeded as much as i can without getting caught by the police and ran inside the house and up the stairs, almost tripping on a few steps.
i ran to my room into my closet to find my teal box missing. i screamed. as loud as i could. my life is over. maybe i should just bury myself into a hole or something. "what's wrong?" jieun asked.
"MY LETTERS ARE GONE." i yelled looking through my closet, my floor, under my bed, through my desk, looking for the box.
"maybe it got taken out with the boxes for goodwill?" my eyes widened. "no." i say mortified. "jae eun! seokjin is here! come down here!" i heard dad say.
"you didn't see me." i say and grab my wallet before climbing out my window. i fell in the bushes which i was happy were NOT the roses but it still hurt. i grabbed my bike and biked all the way to a restaurant nearby.
