i pour the powdered sugar into the sifter along with the flour, the powdery substance getting on my face and apron. i sigh. hyejin was right. i should've made brownies instead. hey at least i'll be original.
the doorbell rang and i wiped my hands on my apron before going to go answer the door. i open the door and i'm met with jimin standing in front of me.
i let him through and go back into the kitchen after closing the door. "there's slippers right next to you." i say before walking away.
"wait, what're you doing?" jimin asked, leaning on the counter. "making lemon bars for jieun's bake sale." i say, going back to read the instructions.
"why didn't you just make brownies? my mom did for my little brother." i groan. "i'd rather be unique and original than the rest of the crowd." i said.
"whatever you say lowell." jimin said and i rolled my eyes. "hey did you read my note?" i raise my eyebrow. "no, why?" i answer as i squeeze the juice from the lemons.
"there's a party tonight at yukhei's house." i hum. "wong yukhei right?" "yeah. its gonna be pretty big." jimin said.
"uh huh, and what does this have to do with me?" i say, putting my hands on my hips. "well you're gonna come with me, duh." jimin says and i shake my head. "no. nope. sorry."
i hear jimin groan. "c'mon please? you made a deal lowell, its even in the contract. besides, you'll have fun." i pout. "i think you should go jae." dad says, walking into the kitchen.
"besides, this can be a new experience for you. a chance for you to go out and have fun with other people instead of being holed up in your room." dad takes my apron off of me and pushes me to the stairs, telling me to go get ready.
"i'll finish these up for you don't worry. go have fun!" i sigh and go upstairs to change. i just hope things end up okay.
