Chapter 13: One nightstand

"Do you remember anything else?" The deputy asked me 

"No, it all happened very fast" I answered

"well try to get some more rest" He said and stood up "If you remember anything else you can call this number" He handed me a card

"Okay, thank you for understanding" I said with a smile. And he walked out of the room. 

"A born liar" Peter said 

"Oh shut up" I replied and closed my eyes for a second. I heard a door open and a nurse walked in "Visiting hour is over" She said and waited until they all said goodbye to me.

"bye" I said for one last time. and they were all gone. I closed my eyes again and fell asleep.

But I was awoken by something turning my arm, In a reflex I pulled back my arm. which only made it hurt more. I looked up angry to see who it was until I saw it was Derek.

"hey" He said  "I'm so sorry Mel..." 

Ït's fine" I said with a smile "I understand"

"No you don't" He said and sat down "I was there but I couldn't control myself, I saw the look in your eyes Melody. you were terrified"

"I was, I'm scared for that other you when you can't control yourself, I'm not scared now" I said and grabbed his hand.

"that other me is also part of me" He said and looked into my eyes.

"yes, but now I know how to deal with that" I replied "you first have to fall to learn how to get up" 

"yeah but the next time you fall, I might hurt you so bad that you can't get up" He said.

"so you nearly killed me once" I said with a wink " It doesn't mean I'll let you do that again"

"how can you not be scared of me right now?" He said "I am the reason you're here"

"Because if you would want me dead I would be dead. You had so many chances to do and yet you didn't. I actually believe even if Peter wasn't there that you still wouldn't have killed me. so stop overreacting" I said 

"you are so weird" He said with a smile and I smiled back at him.

"So any new thoughts on what happened at the beach?" I asked him.

"well he obviously has a thing for you" he said and looked angry.

"Maybe that's just a game" I replied " I mean so far I was the only lead to you, Peter and Scott"

"What would he want with us?" He asked.

"well werewolves are always handy to have on your side right?" I answered. Suddenly the door opened and Scott's mother walked in.

"Oh " She said and looked in surprise at Derek "I would say something about visiting hours but I don't think that you'll listen to that"

"I probably wouldn't "Derek replied.

"Just make sure no one sees you" She said and left again.

"but i'll go, so you can sleep" He said and stood up.

"No" I said "Stay"

" where would I sleep?" He asked with a smirk. I moved over but since the bed was so small I nearly fell off. But I still managed to create enough space so Derek could fit next to me. I laid my head on top of his chest and focused on his heart beat.

"Mel?" He asked.

"we're not doing that pillow fort Derek" I said and rolled my eyes.

" that wasn't what I was gonna ask" He said " I wanted to ask you about the one nightstand thing. Because... I don't want to be that"

"What do you want to be?" I asked him

"Your boyfriend" He replied. I looked up and smiled at him.

"I take that smile as a yes?" He said smiling back at me and I nodded. He leaned forward and kissed me. which made the heart monitor I was attached to beep like a maniac. He laughed and my face turned red.

some nurses came in my room to check if I was alright because my heartbeat suddenly went up. but Derek managed to hide while they were there. When they left Derek kissed my forehead and told me to go to sleep. and well, he didn't had to tell me that twice.
