Chapter 19: Dogs

"So, Did Derek told you anything?" Lydia asked as I checked myself out in the mirror. She convinced me to go shopping with her again and so far she also convinced me to try more dresses then I've ever worn. Including all the bridesmaids dresses.

"Nope" I said and looked at the price tag "Seriously $50? It looks like a gardener threw up on it"

"It's lovely and I'm gonna buy it for you" Lydia responded "But I have to give you a compliment. You're style has improved" 

"Well thank you" I said and walked back in the dressing room. I heard Lydia's phone go off and her talking to her mom. When I walked out the dressing room in my normal clothes she handed me money.

"Sorry my mom wants me home" She said and walked away. I got in line and looked at the dress again. 

I still don't like it.

"That is a beautiful dress" A man said behind me 

"Oh, thank you" I said and smiled at him.

"First I didn't got why woman always go shopping. But now that I got my eyesight back. I do see why going shopping is fun" He said.

"You used to be blind?" I asked confused "My sister is blind. Sorry for asking but... How did you get your eyesight back?"

He leaned forward and whispered in my ear. "The bite of a werewolf" 

I blinked a few times and the man was gone. I looked around more but there was no sight of him anywhere. 

"Are you okay?" The girl behind me asked. She was probably around my age and next to her stood her dad.

"Yeah... I'm fine" I said and turned around with a face the color of a tomato.

"Your name is Melody right?" She asked. 

This is definitely the weirdest store I've ever been to.

"Uh yeah... Do I know you?" I asked and turned back around. 

"Probably not. I'm new" She said and stuck out her hand "I'm Allison" 

"Oh, do we have classes together?" I asked and shook her hand.

"Yeah, History, Economics and English" She answered and smiled at me."But I've only been in Econ so far. Eh... This may sound a bit weird but can you help me around school? The lay-out is ... Weird and I could use some friends"

"Oh yeah of course" I said and smiled at her.

After I was done paying for the dress I gave Allison my number and went home. When I opened my bedroom door I saw Peter sitting on my bed.

"Uh, Hi" I said and put the dress in my closet "What do you want?"

"Can't I just come and talk to my nephews girlfriend without any reason?" He answered

"No, It's you. There is always a reason" I said "Is it Mitch?"

"Nope"

"Derek?"

"Nope"

"Another brother of a girl you dated that is gonna torture me and then tell me that I'm supposed to marry him because of a prophesy?"

"Nope, But you could write an amazing book about that"

"I know right! Then who is it?"

"You"  He said and stood up. "I heard about what happened this weekend"

"Oh" I said not sure how to respond.

"You two are really dumb" He said and crossed his arms

"Peter-" I said but was cut off by him.

"Not for the almost pregnant part" He said "You both forgot that you still don't know what made you sick"

"Probably just food poisoning" I said "It happened to humans every once in a while."

"The 'probably' finished that sentence" Peter said.

"Why does it matter so much? I'm not sick anymore" 

"Because, There is someone after you" He said and immediately looked like he regretted it.

"Mitch?" I asked "I thought he left?"

"He did" Peter said and took a step closer to me "But why makes the little dog flee?"

"A larger dog" I said and he nodded "Does this dog have a name?"

"Deucalion"
