Chapter 15: Cold

I was kind of surprised when we opened the door to Derek's apartment and no one was there. I just figured that they would be want to talk about Derek being a Alfa. But apparently not. Madison had fallen asleep in Derek's arms and I smiled at the sight of it and sat down on the couch.

Derek brought Madison to bed and a few minutes later he sat down next to me. but the minute he sat down the doorbell rang. I saw that he was about to stand up again but I pushed him back down

"I got it" I said and walked over to the door. When I opened it I saw a very familiar face. It was my sister Zoey.

"Hey" I said surprised "How do you know I live here? "

"Madison told me when she was gonna see you, She said the address with it" She said and suddenly started crying. 

"What's wrong?" I asked and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. 

"I... I..." she stuttered but didn't finished the sentence. I guided her in and saw Derek looking at us with a 'what happened?' Face. I sat her down on the couch and slowly petted her back to comfort her.

"Tell me" I said softly. She suddenly looked up in my eyes and told me the words you never want your baby sister to tell you.

"I'm pregnant"

"You're what?!" I yelled and jumped up.

"Calm down Mel" Derek said on a calming tone.

"Who is the father?" I asked furiously.

"why do you want to know?" Zoey asked sounding scared.

"So I can kick his ass for screwing around with my baby sister that's why!" I yelled "Is it that guy I saw you with?"

"No... It's actually his best friend" She said looking down.

"You fucked your boyfriends best friend?" I asked confused "why?"

"Because he kissed Liz" She answered.

"Seriously? I can not leave you guy's alone for a couple of day's can I? " I said and sighed. I sat back down next to her. 

"have you told mom?" I asked quietly.

"No" she said "I wanted to ask if you want to come with me when im saying it"

"So she has all her rage fixed on me" I said and she nodded "Yeah that's a smart one"

"could you guys stop yelling" Madison said. She stood on top of the stairwell with her Fluffy unicorn in her hands "I'm trying to sleep here"

"sorry" I said. I made a 'be quiet' sign to Zoey. I mean if Maddie finds out that Zoey is here then she'll never go back to sleep.

Madison walked back to her room and Zoey broke the silence.

"Soooooo,  You never introduced us" She said to me with a kind smile to Derek.

"You're not changing the subject Zoey" I said and stood up "we're telling her. Now"

"what? now?" she asked confused "but it's already like 9 o'clock"

"yeah so we know she's home and probably already a little bit drunk" I said and pulled her up.

Never have i've been so nervous to talk to my mom. And this time I don't even really have to talk. Well yeah I'm gonna make some fabulous comebacks if she says something mean but the real pressure is on Zoe.

Oh god what if she kicks her out?I should've asked Derek if it was okay for her to live with us. Apparently within the next 4 months all of my siblings will live with us if we continue with this paste.

I knocked on the door and heard footsteps coming closer. I grabbed Zoey's hand and squeezed gently in it. in a 'im here for you' kind of way. The door opened and revealed the face i've actually been dying to see.

John's.

I immediately burst out in laughing when I saw all the bruises in his face.  everything around his right eye was so swollen up that he probably couldn't even see through it and his bottom lip had 2 cuts in it. 

"What are you doing here"He hissed. 

"None of your goddamn business" I said on a more serious tone and pushed him out of the way. I walked to the kitchen and saw my mom sitting there with a bright red dress reading the newspaper.

"hello" I said on a calm tone. Se looked up surprised but her face immediately turned cold.

"What are YOU doing here?" she spat.

"I'm here for my sister" I replied calmly but I couldn't help to add "at least one of us is" 

I guided Zoey to the seat in front of mom's. but she probably didn't even realize that Zoey had something important to say, Because her cold hard eyes were focused on me.

"Mom" Zoey began. And I was surprised that her eyes actually went to Zoey.

"what is it sweetie?" she said on a disgustingly nice tone she never uses.

"I'm pregnant"

well, She said it straight to the point.

Her eyes widened and then the yelling began. She was yelling so much in allot of different languages that I don't think Zoey could understand. And well, me neither.

"Mom" I said "Pipe the fuck down"

"You need to keep your damn nose out of our business" she hissed at me "You are not even apart from this family Melody"

"Is she?" I asked and looked at Zoey "Because I don't know about you and the love you have for your children but if she's not then I want to keep your filthy words away from her"

"she is still apart from this family" She said "but you need to leave now" 

I looked at Zoey and she said "it's okay" I nodded and walked out of the house.

"How did it go?" Derek asked as soon as I entered the apartment.

"Great. Me and Madison are still 'no longer' part oft his family for no reason but at least Zoey still is" I said and laid down on his bed. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh.

why can't my family make sense like every other family?

Derek laid down next to me and pulled me closer. 

"Well at least we had 5 seconds of peace" He said and we both started laughing.
