Chapter 14: Date night

"Ready?" My mom asked as I got out of the bathroom my hospital room.

"yeah" I replied. We walked out of the room into the hallway and headed towards the elevator. 

"One of the doctors told me that it was common that after such an sudden unexplained attack going into large crowds might be a bit hard for you, so you can stay home from school if you want to" She said as we walked into the elevator.

"I've never been good in large crowds" I said " I just want to go back to school and let everything go back to normal" 

"you want to go back today?" She said and I nodded "are you insane you just got out of the hospital!" 

"just drop me off at school" I said " My books are there anyway"

Apparently I'm a good at persuading people because after 20 minutes we arrived at my school.

"Okay see ya"I said and opened the door.

"Melody your car is still at the house how are you gonna get back?" She asked

"I can ask a friend to drop me off" I said and closed the door "Don't worry about it" 

I walked into the school. all the hallway's were deserted because classes had already started like 20 minutes ago. First class of today: Economy.

I walked to the classroom and opened the door. Everybody looked at me.

Jesus I went to the hospital it's not like I grew an extra head.

"Miss Lockheart I though you were in the hospital?" Coach asked me as I walked towards my seat in the back.

"yes but I was discharged" I said and sat down.

"well glad to have you back" he said and went back to whatever he was explaining.

school went by as normal: boring and way to long. But at least I could look forward to going home. Well that's what I thought I was gonna do until I ran into Lydia and she reminded me that we still needed to go shopping.

We went inside a random store I would never even consider going in and started searching for nice clothes. and I didn't meant that we started searching I meant that she searched and that I should just watch until we get to the dressing rooms.

"so did anything special happened at the hospital"she asked as she pulled out a bright pink dress.

"No, why?' I asked

"Derek was in a lovely mood this morning when we went to check on him" She answered

"Oh about that..." I said "we are kinda officially dating now"

She looked up and smiled "Really? " 

"yeah " I said and smiled at the memory.

"well, another reason to look extra pretty "she said and grabbed another dress.

"well isn't this a surprise" I heard someone say and turned around. It was Martin

I grabbed Lydia's arm and tried to pass him but he stopped me, leaving his face only inches away from mine.

"I have a question" He said. "would you like to go on a date with me?"

"what ? fuck no!" I replied loud enough for everyone to hear in the store.

"Your going on a date with me" he whispered "Or ill rip your friend's head off" He pointed at Lydia.

"go on a date with him" Lydia said.
