Chapter 20: Hugs and Coffee

"Hellooo" I said to Scott and slammed his locker shut "We need to talk."

"About what?" He asked confused.

"Dogs" I said and grabbed his arm. I dragged him all the way through the hallway out of the school over the lacrosse field and finally into the woods while he kept asking me what I was doing.

"You know what Derek is up to don't you?" I finally said and released his arm.

"I don't. He won't tell me"  He answered.

"How do I know you're speaking the truth?" I asked and crossed my arms. He slowly walked over to me and pulled me into a hug.

"Listen to my heartbeat" He whispered "I don't know what he's doing. He won't tell me" 

Dammit it didn't go up.

"I figured he would tell you" I mumbled.

"Do you know?" He asked and I nodded "How?"

"Peter" I said. "Why won't Derek tell you?"

"He said I need to focus on school" He replied "I'm failing history"

"History? I can help you with that" I said. He looked at me confused "I like it okay? I'm also pretty good at it"

"Well thanks" He said and smiled at me "What did Peter tell you?"

"Something about dogs and a weird name" I said "Deucalion"

His eyes widened and he mumbled something I couldn't hear. "What? You know him?" I asked he slowly nodded. "Isaac said at lunch that he was especially dangerous to me... Do you know why?"

"Stay out of this one Melody" He quickly said and ran off further into the woods leaving me utterly confused.

"Hey" I greeted Allison. I saw her sitting alone at lunch and figured I would sit with her. I sat down next to her and she put away the book she was reading 

"Hey" She said and smiled at me "Don't you wanna sit with your friends?"

"Nah, They'll live without me for once" I replied and smiled back at her "Did you made any friends so far?"

"Not really" She said "It usually takes some time with me" 

"Same here. Actually now that I think about it... I only know my friends because of my mom..." I said and laughed "Do you have any siblings?"

"No, I'm an only child" She said "You?"

"I have three sisters and four brothers" I replied and her eyes widened.

"That much?" she asked surprised.

"Well yeah. My mom usually marries rich guys and then divorces them and she found out that you get the most money if your pregnant or already have a child" I answered and shrugged. 

"She sounds... Sweet" She said trying to sound nice.

"She's not" I said. I saw that Allison didn't really knew how to respond so I quickly changed the subject "Do you want to get some coffee after school? I'll show you the place where they have the BEST coffee in all of Beacon hills"

"Yeah, I would love that" she said as the bell rang
