"No problem." He grins, his British accent showing.

Thomas emerges from the bathroom, the door creaking slightly. "I'm gonna go back to bed, see you later." I yawn, rubbing my eyes and returning to my bed, with Minho and Alex.

I slip into the gap between my boys and I wrap my arms around Alex, drifting into unconsciousness once again.

Hours drew by, which finally turned into a day. The guards had collected us from our room and taken us to breakfast, back to the room, then lunch, back to the room and then dinner. We were bored ridged, the plain concrete grey walls slowly absorbing our sanity.

I pick at the bland food, unable to force the hideous meal down my throat once again, for the meals were the same, potatoes and eggs for breakfast, potatoes and a small chicken pie for lunch, potatoes and steak for dinner.

"Michelle." Thomas rises from his seat as Janson finishes the list of 'lucky Gladers', leaving this hellhole. He keeps his head down and joins the back of the line, who are following Janson through the forbidden corridor.

"What the shuck is he doing?" Minho sighs, watching Thomas intently.

Two muscular guards stand infront of Thomas as he tries to get past. "Your name wasn't called." The massive guard says, puffing his chest out.

"No... I just want to have a look. What are people you hiding?!" Thomas's voice rises as he tries to push past the guard once again. Minho and Newt share a glance before rising from their seats and slowly wandering over to Thomas, almost sensing a fight.

"No can do kid, this area is forbidden."

"What is your problem!" Thomas yells, his eyes wild with frustration. He pushes on the guards chest, once again attempting to get past. The guard reacts, obviously despising the fact that an annoying 'kid' has pushed him around. The Gladers and I rush over to him, pulling a shouting Thomas away from the guard.

Janson runs through the door as the boys shout at eachother. "Hey hey hey, what's going on? Thomas, calm down!" Janson turns to the guard, "Get these kids back to their rooms." He spreads his arms wide, separating the two.

We are rushed back into our room, the door slammed shut behind us. "Well done Thomas." Minho rolls his eyes, slamming his hands against the door, only once, and retreats to his bed and perches on the edge of it.

"Look, they are up to something, and I'm going to find out what, see if we can get outta here." Thomas pants, pacing around the room.

"Wait wait wait! What? Maybe some of us don't want to leave, we haven't had a bed, food, a shelter over our heads for a very long time." Newt frowns, his eyebrows furrowed.

"I'm sorry okay, but cover for me." Thomas returns, as a vent cover skids across the floor. Aris, the strange boy from the cafeteria, clambers from underneath the bed;

"Do you have it?" He asks, ignoring us Gladers.

"Yeah, lets go." Thomas answers, producing a keycard from his back pocket. He follows Aris into the vent and is gone, leaving us confused and quite stressed.

Thomas

My knees ache as we clamber through the vents, my hands slapping against the smooth metal surface.

My thoughts drift back to Newt and the rest of the Gladers, I sigh in annoyance - just wishing I could tell them what was going on.

We arrive at the large vent we had sat at a couple of days ago and I help Aris tug the heavy vent open. I carefully lower myself to the polished white floor and Aris follows in suit, quietly shoving the vent closed.

I fumble for the card in my back pocket, worried it might have fallen out in the mad panic to get through the vents. I slide the card across the pin protected keypad, my breath hitches as the screen stays blank. I cast my eyes to the floor, heart beating quickly with anticipation.

Aris watches the screen with a harsh glare, as it stays blank. I cock an eyebrow and slide the card again, this time the screen flashes green and the door is propelled open.

Aris and I share a look, a look of achievement and fear for what lies behind this door. We step inside and the doors slide shut behind us, a gust of air ruffling my hair out of place.

Another pair of metal doors slide open, Aris gasps out in horror and in pure fear as the sight of what we predicted lays infront of us. I close my eyes in disgust at what our 'saviours' were trying to hide.

"What the shuck?" The words roll straight off of my tongue, bursting the silence, like a pin pressed onto a balloon. Aris ignores my statement, staring sadly into the rows of bodies.

I step towards a girl, brushing her hair away from her face - recognition burns in my head, but I dismiss the thought and stare at the vial of blue liquid connected to the girl by some tubes.

"Her name was Rachel." Aris interrupts my line of thought, "She was taken like the others, and I told her she'd be okay. We'd meet again."
