Nikko's adventure: Book 1 The 9 Trials

Chapter 2: The Labyrinth

After Nikko enters the labyrinth he quickly notices the ladder leading down into the giant maze that is the labyrinth and quickly takes note of the many rooms and which path leads to the exit, then he starts to climb down and as he nears the bottom, he jumps off and makes his way into the left path of the labyrinth. "Geeeez this place is gonna take forever to get through, well at least taking down undead enemies is fun and I get to learn more about this planet, it's great so far so woot" he goes into a small room that contains many pots and books, he opens the books one by one but the pages are either ripped or don't have any words except for one book "huh...is this a diary? Well, kinda lets see what this says 'this labyrinth is unending, no wonder it was meant for the fated one I keep going in circles or ending up at the beginning...when will I get out of here?' wow...that's sad...this skeleton seems to be his body...at least he technically got out but not alive" clearly upset, he continues walking. Nikko slices undead to pieces as he makes his way to another room, this one only has writing on the wall and a relic in a far corner, he picks up the relic and reads what's in the wall "The exit is the center, the treasure is not to be touched by no normal being, this labyrinth has conquered all" Nikko gets more worried for his life but continues on, as he walks into different paths and many dead-ends he begins hear something following him.

He stops in his tracks and focuses on listening to the noises. He can hear something eerily walking towards him, he quickly raises his shield in the direction of the noises and sees the beast, it resembles a minotaur except with more bulk and an axe in hand. The minotaur doesn't notice Nikko so he takes this chance to get behind the minotaur, slowly he moves behind it and in an instant he jumps and drives his sword into the minotaur's back, it roars in pain and turns around to try and slash Nikko with the axe. Nikko blocks it with his shield and slashes the minotaurs legs while sliding past it and slashing its back again, the minotaur kicks Nikko in the torso launching him back a few feet, he groans in pain. Nikko slowly stands up and notices the minotaur limping as it walks towards him, he takes this chance to rush the minotaur and he sprints quickly towards it, Nikko dodges an axe swing and drives his sword through the minotaur's head...killing it. Panting "so how bout no? Like...just not another one, the armor really saved me though" he slowly walks forward and spots writing on the wall "The closer the end the nearer your death" Nikko starts cautiously walking and paying more attention to his surroundings, slowly gaining his energy back from the battle. As he continues walking he quickly dodges a laser beam and runs past other traps, jumping and dodging spikes, more lasers and falling objects of varying sizes "alright what the crap!? The hell type of labyrinth is this aaahh!" after more and more running he jumps into a room full of various treasures and more books.

Slowly getting up he reads the book titles while dusting them off, one book reads "The prophecy of the fated one" he opens it and reads everything that is clear "The fated one is the fated knight of god himself, whom ever passes through the labyrinth must face one more set of challenges to become the knight of god and the defender of all" he closes the book and reads through another. This book is titled "The treasure of the labyrinth" the books reads "The treasure lies at the center of Ichou the very planet this labyrinth is in, the reward is a crystal harvested from the core and embowed with godlike power, any that touch the crystal will have it absorbed into them, none but that fated one can handle its power". Nikko says to himself "huh, that's....well for one terrifying and for two a great way to draw in greedy people, but i'm not greedy and it seems obvious i'm this so called fated one" every other book is unreadable or torn apart, Nikko continues onwards. He groans in pain and holds his head as more images flash through, the images are that of a great war and the room that houses the reward at the end of the labyrinth and then an image of a bright and holy figure flashes last, he shakes his head and starts walking again, but at another turn he sees...a giant snakes tail "oh lord no like please no, giant snake or medusa just no". Nikko walks to where the tail went only in belief that it's where he needs to go and from remembering the path to the end, once he turns a corner, the giant snake is in full view and has the torso of a mutilated woman, then it quickly lunges at Nikko to try and grab him but he slips through. It keeps lunging to try to grab Nikko but he keeps evading and dodging. During a dodge he spins and slices one of its arms off, acid spews from the cut but the terrifying beast tries again with the other arm while shrieking in pain, making a sound as if its throat is torn. Nikko runs around the beast and impales it into a wall, then he jumps on it's back while stabbing it over and over, yet missing it's head from both twitching from fear and the head moving.
