Chapter 12: The Fifth Trial

Once the light fades around Nikko, he sees himself in only pitch black darkness and walks around hearing nothing but the slight movements of his armor and feet hitting the ground. Clearly dazed at the sight he calls out for anyone, but to no avail and starts to run around searching for anything and anyone in the darkness. He creates a ball of light but only lighting up a few feet in front of him "The darkness is that intense...what...what the hell do I do?" without another thought, he stands there motionless and deep in his thoughts. His mind starts to go against him and he starts thinking about Alice, Shelby, Nicholas and his life back home "...so you're doing this again huh?...always against me but so vital..." his heart starts to ache "I can't even feel emotions yet my heart aches...I can't explain any feeling..." Nikko starts to drift more and more into a painful feeling, both in his heart and brain. Without noticing, Nikko feels a something pierce through his right shoulder "It went through the armor?! W-what happened? Aaagh" he groans in pain and grabs his right shoulder, then another sort of thin but bright beam goes straight through left shoulder. Nikko groans in more pain and lets his left arm drop, then he heightens his senses and tries to pinpoint another thin beam, he fails and another one goes straight through his thighs from the side but he keeps standing. Struggling and confused he tries shielding himself with sound, creating an even stronger shell of sound around himself, yet another thin beam goes straight through it and through his chest.

Nikko coughs up blood as the shell of sound almost immediately vanishes and in a desperate attempt he starts pouring more power into himself, making his veins glow bright and strengthening his entire body while also healing his wounds. "It's a useless attempt fated one, I will drive you into pain known to no one in existence" Nikko revolts at the voice he heard and tries to grab his shield from his waist along with his sword but in the same instant another thin beam goes through his arms and his hands, knocking them away from his sword and shield. "Why are these beams...so strong...th-there stopping my healing even!..." he coughs up more blood and more bemas start shooting through him in all directions "You weren't even close to a Knight of God, you can't even handle true power" Nikko tries to yell but instead chokes on blood. He falls to his knees and then on his side, still struggling to get up but can't from the wounds "I'll brutally murder everyone you know and love" again Nikko tries to yell and scream but only choking on blood and making sounds as if he's drowning. Something invisible grabs Nikko's neck and pushes with immense force down on the side of his neck "you won't need this armor, nor that pesky relic" Nikko's armor starts to vanish from him along with the relic, leaving him in his clothes with nothing but his fists to fight back. The force on his neck pushes down harder and harder and Nikko tries to grab at it, yet only grabbing nothing as his hand seemingly passes through.

Nikko slams his hand onto the pitch black ground creating a small shockwave of blue and red sound and light waves and particles, all slowly fading like the life of a living being. He forces himself up while pushing the force on his neck away somehow, accompanied with a scream of agony and then starts focusing his powers on his wounds to heal quicker and succeeds. His wrists start bleeding seeing cuts that came from nowhere "Whatever trial this is god, this is not you! Hnng!" he grabs at his head, holding it tightly as a sort of sharp pain engulfs his entire head. With more and more screams of agony Nikko hears the voice say "God? Hmhm that guy huh, your God has left you..." the pain in his head grows more intense as his screams get louder. Still in pure agony, Nikko looks up in front of him as he sees Alice on her knees and in tears with a dark shadowy figure and bright red eyes standing behind her, then more and more of Nikko's loved ones appear all around him with the same shadowy figure behind them. "Whoever you are stop this! Uuuugh!" Nikko fires a beam of sound and light from his right hand and tries to shoot the shadow behind Alice, his veins glowing as the trial of sound dissipates slowly from his hand. Nikko misses and the figure slits open Alice's neck as she burst into tears, the same happening with everyone else around him.
