Chapter 14: Downtime

Jessica and Nikko arrive at the shopping mall, Nikko following Jessica as she leads him to the clothes store but having to drag Nikko away every once in a while when he spots something interesting. He spots a game store and starts running towards it but before he could even walk into the store Jessica grabs him and starts dragging him away, not letting go and saying they could go to the game store later, Nikko crosses his arms and scoffs. They arrive at the clothing store and Nikko's eyes quickly widen in excitement due to the technology and other clothing items, but more on the technology. Jessica sighs and she tells Nikko that she'll look for clothes with him to find something good, he says ok and they walk to the men's section of the store. Nikko puts his music on while he looks for clothes, picking out many grey and black pieces of clothes while Jessica finds other items of various colors and designs. "You know not everything has to be one style or color Nikko" Jessica says while showing Nikko the clothes she found for him. Nikko rolls his eyes and sighs while saying he'll try on the clothes she found for him and minutes later he walks into the changing room to try on some clothing. He quickly gets distracted from the tech in the room and even holograms showing himself in full, then Jessica bangs on the door "hurryyyyy, geez you're such a kid haha" Jessica jokingly states.

Minutes to an hour pass as the two walk to buy the clothes they picked out, Jessica holding her own clothes she picked for herself, grey jeans, blue, white, red, and pink shirts in various styles. Nikko only having few colors and a very linear style of grey and black shirts, white blue and red shirts either in one color or with a simple design, jet black pants and a white and black jacket. After purchasing their clothes, Nikko wastes no time in luggin his bags and himself to the game store with Jessica laughing and following behind. As she enters the store she spots Nikko quickly sifting through the shelves with a few interesting and popular titles in his hand along with his bags of clothes "Hey do you need help carrying those? Th-that seems pretty heavy..." Nikko declines politely. He walks to the counter and places down a few games on the counter, but quickly despairs as he doesn't have money, luckily Jessica being kind enough she pays for the games. They walk out of the game store, Jessica carrying a few bags and Nikko carrying a whole bag of games over his shoulder along with his many bags of clothes "This is so reverse it's not even funny Nikko" Jessica jokingly states. People again stare at Nikko while Jessica starts getting a bit anxious, Nikko says to not worry about everyone else making Jessica slightly more comfortable.

The pair get out of the shopping complex and into Jessica's car, she quickly wonders where to go next, then Nikko suggests to go deeper into the city where more lights and tech are just to walk around. Jessica starts the car and they make their way to the center of the city.

Nikko: dude! Everything looks so futuristic and cool here!

Jessica: your earth must've been pretty far behind then because all of this is really simple silly haha

Nikko: nyo! This is awesome and advanced!

Jessica: whatever you say child

Nikko: yet the grammar and speech remain pretty much the same huh intriguing

Jessica: when did you go from being a kid to some curious...observer or something?!

Nikko: don't question the Nikko

Jessica: but-

Nikko: don't!

Jessica: okaayy... well anyway here we are

Nikko: holy damn! Everything's so futury and cool!

Nikko quickly hops out of the car, Jessica walking out and next to Nikko while locking the car

Jessica: welp, let's start walking! To be fair this is really cool!

Nikko: ugh! I wanna know how to create all of this myself too!
