Chapter 11: The Hunt

Sunlight starts to slowly pour into the living room, Nikko and Shelby still playing Frontier together, a couple minutes pass and they stop playing to get ready to go on the hunt. Once they have all of their gear and equipment, they exit the house and start the hunt, Shelby getting on her bike and Nikko flying next to her. Nikko asks what they're hunting and Shelby tells him that they're hunting down many different kinds of demons, mainly to get Nikko used to the bow, he nods yes and they continue down the road. They keep going down the road and soon Shelby spots some flat grassy hills that have been destroyed with lines that seem to have been ripped through the ground from something, she stops and goes to investigate with Nikko following behind her. Once they get to the center, Nikko quickly notices the same crater that the many demon hordes ambushed him in "what...did this? Jesus" then Nikko quickly looks at the destruction and then to Shelby. "Erm, I did this...pretty much all of it" Shelby looks at Nikko in shock and very confused, questions racing through her mind with the only word she can say being "what?..." he looks at her in shame. Shelby quickly reassures to Nikko that it's ok and remarks to how he has already mastered the full power of his bow but not accuracy yet, she smiles at him and starts walking back towards her bike with Nikko following behind.

They continue down the road, Nikko also taking a chance to enjoy the scenery and view of everything "hey it's been on my mind, is there any big baddy we have to hunt down?" he asks, Shelby tells hims that there isn't a big threat but she wouldn't know, clearly confused he tries to ask but just shrugs it off and they carry on with the ride. A few more minutes pass and Nikko gets an idea to make things faster, he zips high into the air and sends out sound and light waves as far as he can and quickly he spots a large gathering of demons Northwest of where him and Shelby are. He zips back down to Shelby and tells her where to go as he follows behind her, while keeping a keen sense on their surroundings. They arrive soon after at the demon gathering and Nikko zips towards the demon hoard, Shelby yelling at him while dashing behind him from afar then he bashes into a demon and instantly firing arrows into multiple other demons. Shelby catches up to Nikko and witnesses the mayhem being caused by Nikko, every demons head getting pierces and tossed miles away, light and sound waves from him dashing and his arrows, and the powerful shockwaves and gusts of wind from every shot.

Shelby gets a few shots in and killing a few demons here and there but the majority being shot down by Nikko, Shelby starts quickly noticing more and more demons arriving on their location except ones that look much stronger and bigger. Nikko zips into the air and fires a volley of arrows into the demons starting to surround them, Shelby assisting and shooting down demons with her bow as well. Nikko charges a shot from his bow making the arrow grow brighter than ever and fires it into the densest part of the hoard, creating a massive explosion as hi zips back down behind Shelby in seconds. A massive horned demon grabs at Nikko, he zips a few feet away and fires a chain arrow into the demons skull and starts to swing it around smacking multiple foe's down. He lets go of the chain, letting it fly far away, then quickly surrounds Shelby in a shell of sound even tougher than last time. Suddenly the ground starts shaking and a few miles from Nikko and Shelby a massive black and redish hell worm erupts from the ground and starts making its way to their position. "I HAVE MULTIPLE QUESTIONS AFTER THIS!!!" Nikko yells at Shelby as he charges at the behemoth hell worm, making her run away and behind cover.

Nikko gets the worms attention, slightly hesitating from the sheer size off the worm and it being miles and miles bigger than him. Shelby takes down the rest of the demons while analyzing the hell worm, spotting many weak spots on the worms exterior and start to fire arrows at them. Nikko starts zipping around while firing fully charged arrows rapidly at the worm somewhat damaging it, creating visible holes in the worms exterior going straight through it. Shelby sprints towards the hell worm and fires more arrows at the worms weak spot and hits one, making the worm rise up high into the air from pain, exposing its soft underside. Nikko charges a full shot and fires it into the hell worms underside, ripping through and creating a giant hole. The hell worm falls back down and starts to squirm, Nikko zips to Shelby and shield her from the hell worm as it thrashes about and shakes the ground violently, he grabs Shelby and dashes far away as fast as he can without injuring Shelby. A few miles down he let's Shelby stand up and they watch as the hell worm slowly starts evaporating and then to a dead stop as its body disappears. Shelby observes closely at Nikko and notices his veins slowly stop glowing and his armor repairing from the scratches and dings as he puts up his bow, then he turns and looks at her.
