Nikko's adventure: Book 1 The 9 Trials

Chapter 7: The Second Trial

Once the light fades, Nikko can see that he is in a pure white room with a letter on the floor next to him, he picks up the letter and reads "This is the second trial, The trial of speed and you will be tested on various things to do with speed" and after he reads it the paper vanishes from his hands. Nikko starts to walk around the room, trying to figure out what will happen, then suddenly an arrow hits Nikko's back at breakneck speeds. His armor is dented only a little and it repairs itself quickly, then more arrows shoot at Nikko at the same speed and he cuts the arrows in half but missing most as they keep hitting him. Clueless at what to do he raises his shield and blocks all of the arrows but they keep coming in full force and suddenly Nikko is launched into the air from an invisible force. All of the arrows hit Nikko as he falls back down to the ground, he forces himself up again seeing more of the arrows come his way as he starts dodging and weaving in between all the arrows yet some still hit him in various spots. Nikko starts hopelessly thinking of what to do but he thinks of nothing but trying to slash the arrows and then what he originally thinks is his normal energy rush kicking in as he quickly cuts all of the arrows while blocking them. None of the arrows hit Nikko yet they still keep coming and he again goes as fast as his body will let him and cuts down the arrows.

What seems to be hours of being bombarded by arrows, he starts feeling no more pain as sound waves start defending him and repelling the arrows and then, finally realizes what to do. While harnessing more of the power from the crystal his veins start to glow blue and red again as his senses are heightened to the maximum. He starts quickly swerving through the arrows while cutting them down and leaving a blue and red trail of sound behind him as his body turns into a blur, and in a very forceful shield charge Nikko bashes through the wall that the arrows where coming from and spots himself in another room. He takes this time to think about what's happening and what to do and he soon realizes the trials are both meant for him to harness more power from the crystal and gain more powers while strengthening himself for any combat "huh so these trials are basically the most deadly training system eh...f***" he says to himself. Nikko starts getting more cocky, thinking he's already figured out everything and that the rest of the trails will be a breeze, but while isn't paying attention something large and heavy slams into Nikko, launching him far across the room. He flies through the air and desperately tries to move but he can't, the wind is too much and is holding him in place and then he slams into a wall, making a very loud and audible thud.

He groans while he forces himself up and getting lightheaded trying to gain his balance, then another large cube is launched at him but he quickly jumps far above the object and shoots a beam of sound at it, blowing it up. More and more of the large cubes are launched at breakneck speeds getting, closer and closer to the speed of sound and Nikko dodges and weaves through most but still getting hit and launched by some. For more hours he continues this process over and over again, honing his speed in reaction time, movement, and thinking and starts to go faster and faster, his body becoming more of a blur as the trial behind him glows brighter with more particles flowing around. Nikko finally overcomes this room and then his veins start to fade in its bright glow, but he feels no different as he walks into another room a very large room. He spots some object going at the speed of sound to the other end of the room which seems to be miles away, and then a giant red wall goes the same speed to the end of the room and as it passes through Nikko, damagsing him badly. Nikko quickly starts to run to the other end of the room as another red wall approaches him and not even halfway down the room the wall hits him making him fall and get warped back to the start of the room.

He harnesses more power from the crystal, making him go even faster and he tests this by dashing quickly through the red wall whilst leaving a very visible after image of himself and a trial of sound that he can walk through. He tries again to outpace the red wall but fails again, and again, and again, getting hurt more and more but shrugging off the pain while learning to control his healing ability and heal himself faster. Nikko keeps trying for what seems to be hours and hours on end to almost a full day, but getting even faster after every attempt and for his next attempt at outpacing the red wall he makes himself go into an energy rush as his motor functions are increased by a massive amount. He boosts and dashes from one side of the room to the other testing his speed, almost instantly reaching the other wall and then he looks forward to the other end of the room, miles from where he is. With energy coursing through his body and the power of the crystal producing more and more energy, Nikko quickly dashes in front of the next red wall, going faster and faster as everything around him becomes a blur. The rooms continue to go on seemingly endlessly but continues sprinting as he quickly jumps over a wall many feet in height and dashing quickly through the air, then landing and continuing to run. His body start to give out but he doesn't stop, pushing himself to go on as he quickly approaches the speed of light he dodges and jumps through more and more obstacles increasing in density.
