An ode to a beautiful you
An ode to a beautiful day
Remind yourself how you felt
Weightless, beautiful and most importantly
Happy.
You felt like lights low and clothes off
With rhythmic poetry in the back drop
And as the air rushed past your stomach
You felt beautiful
You have always wanted to love yourself like he loved you
And maybe today, maybe today, you actually did.
Listen to him in your head and then shut off
Scream loud and moan soft
Its okay if you're not on the same page
Just pick a different book.
Pick a different story, a different life
He called you a universe
So show him how you sparkle
Show him the galaxies when they burst around your neck
Into your palms
Underneath your toes
You can walk less, skip more and still be imperfect
But isn't that what makes you
You?
Sleep, sleep till you feel you can handle the waking up
The going about, the coming and the going
Sleep till you feel the tears have dried
Till you feel you can handle waking up.
I promise
The sun will still shine yellow
The grass will still glimmer green
And you'll move forward with every bit of your heart intact
Between your cages
Without the tapes
Completely healed.Truth.
