Lucy slowly stepped back.
"Lucy." Levy said.
Levy tried holding her hand but she pulled it away. She kept moving further away from her.
When Levy stepped forward, she turned around and run away. She can hear Levy calling her name but she didn't dare turn her back or stop. She just kept on running until she saw a taxi. She hailed the taxi and got in.
"H-Heartfilia's residence, please." She said in a cracked voice.
The driver nodded and drove off.
Lucy was panting heavily. She clutched her chest and tried breathing normally. When she finally calmed down, the tears that she was holding back spilled. She tried covering her mouth to muffle her cries, but a sob still came out.
The driver noticed it, but didn't say anything.
Her thoughts kept drifting on the scene she just witnessed. The scene where Yukino kissed Gray and the latter jumping in joy. It just kept playing on her mind which makes her cry harder.
Her phone suddenly rang. It was Levy calling. She ignored it. She knows that her friend must be worried about her, but she didn't feel like talking at all. She just wanted to cry.
"How could he do this to me? How could he let her kissed him?" Lucy thought.
"Because he was never yours, Lucy." Came another voice in her head. "He just sees you as a friend. Nothing more, nothing less."
She covered her face with her hands and cried harder.
"I thought I had a chance. I thought somehow he had feelings for me. How can I be so wrong?"
She grabbed the hem of her skirt.
"If only Yukino didn't transfer here from Hargeon. If only Gray didn't meet her. If only...None of this would have happened if she didn't enter our lives." She thought angrily.
"She ruined everything. She ruined my life. I hate her! I hate her." She thought while clenching her fist.
"Miss, miss..." The cab driver called.
"What?" She snapped.
"Uhm...we're here, miss." He said.
She looked outside the window and saw her house.
Lucy felt guilty. "S-sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you."
"It's okay. Don't worry about it." The driver said kindly.
She sniffed. "C-can you give me a minute."
He nodded.
She tried fixing her self. She wiped her tears and blew her nose. She checked herself in the mirror and saw that her eyes are puffy and red.
"Damn." She cursed. She rummaged through her bag and looked for something that would cover her eyes. She found her sunglasses.
She paid the driver and got out of the cab. The car drove away leaving Lucy standing outside the gate.
There she stood wondering whether she should just run to her room and cry her eyes out or just walk and pretend that everything were okay.
She chose the latter. She didn't want to explain to her father why she run to her room without saying hello. She just wanted to be left alone.
With these thoughts in her mind, she unlocked the gate then walks towards the front door. Upon reaching it, she took a deep breath, plastered a smile on her face then turned the doorknob.
