I'M TAKING THE BUS!

A week after the incident, the rumor had died down. Gray managed to avoid Lucy for that entire week. He even developed a new morning regime in order to stay away from her.

He starts his day by waking up around 6am, taking a shower, eating his breakfast, and walking to the bus stop.

He also manages to eat a proper meal since his mom always gets up early to cook. But of course, she still makes excuses for making his lunch.

"Mom, you're excuses are getting old so just drop it, okay?" He said as he puts his spoon and fork down and stand up.

"Then why bother asking anyway."

He just rolled his eyes. "Fine, I will stop asking you from now on."

Then he checks his watch and grabs his bag and was about to dash to the door when her mom grabbed his arm.

"Wait a minute. Aren't you going to wait for Lyon?"

"Nope. I know dad drives him to school. And besides, he's not a kid, mom. I'm sure he'll understand."

"What about your dad? I'm sure he would want to see you before you go to school. He kinda misses you too. He hasn't seen you in a while."

He stared at his mom and raised his brow. "Didn't we all eat together last night? We even played billiards after dinner."

"Oh...right...It must have slipped my mind."

"How can you forget? You were beating us in every game!"

"Well...I must have been drunk then."

Gray throws his arms in the air in exasperation.

"Look! I know what you're trying to do here, mom. You're trying to waste my time -- hoping that Lucy would wake up and come here."

She appeared shocked for a moment, but dropped the facade when he saw Gray's face. "Was I that obvious?"

He just rolled his eyes. "I'm going, mom. See you later."

"Fine! But you better eat the lunch she prepared for you."

"You mean, the one Virgo made."

"Whatever. It's the thought that counts anyway."

"So I've heard. Bye!"

After the minor hold back, he started walking towards the front gate. As always, he was very careful in opening and closing the gate -- afraid that someone (particularly Lucy) might hear any noise. When he sees that the coast is clear, (or when Lucy's curtains are still closed) he proceeds walking to the bus stop.

He reached his destination 15 minutes befor the bus arrives. With minutes to spare, he decided to read a book.

While reading, he saw three guys hovering a girl who was seated few feets away from him. He can't see the girl as the guys blocking his view. He didn't mind it at first until the girl spoke up.

"Like I told you before, I'm not interested. I'm waiting for someone, so you may just all leave now."

"Come on, don't make up excuses, honey. You've been sitting here for like half an hour now but still no guy shows up."

"Why don't you just worry for yourself and just leave me alone, okay? And besides, I'm sure his on his way now."

"Well, we can't leave you here alone. There's a lot of bad people out here. With a beauty like yours, someone might just take advantage of it."

"Oh, you mean people like YOU."

They all laughed. Then, one of the guys, who was sitting beside her, scooted closer. "Oh, no! Not us! We're good guys, you know. We're here to protect you."

"Yeah, right! Don't you have some classes to attend to?"

"Well, it's still early, that's why we're offering to give you a ride. We just wanted to make sure that you're safe and sound when you go to your school. So...what do you say?"

"NO, THANKS! I'd rather take the bus."

"You're wasting your beauty in a bus, sweetie. A girl with a face like yours should ride a fancy car like mine." He said smugly and pointed his car.

The girl just raised her brows. "For your information, I have one at home -- much fancier, if I may add. I just wanted to take the bus today...which I'm starting to regret now." She whispered the last part.

"You're making another excuse, girl. Come on, just come with us and we'll take you to Magnolia High." He said offering his hand.

She shook his head. He finally touches her arm which made her flinch at the contact.

"Touch me again and you'll see stars before your eyes. And I mean it not in a good way."

They all laughed again. "Is that a dare? What if I do this?" He puts his arm on her shoulders.

The girl was about to elbow him hard when she heard someone calling her name.

"LUCY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Gray shouted which made everyone froze.

Well I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know it's kinda obvious that it was Lucy in the end but I didn't want to put anybody else in this chap. I just wanted this to be something they could remember by as the story progress.

I already started the next chapter so I'll probably publish it tomorrow or the next day.

Anyway, have you read the latest chapter of fairy tail? I can't believe that it's getting closer to it's end. Damn! I kinda don't want it to end.
