'We'll sit for a couple more minutes and then we can take em back home.'

'Da.' The faint sounds of Noel and her sibling murmuring in an unknown language echos throughout the room, putting a smile on my face.

'You tryna see you're dada?' I asked her and she just smiled as a response before using her chubby fingers to chew on the hem of her brother's shirt.

'That's not food.' I pointed out but it was no use, she'd continue on anyway.

I looked over at Erin who held a sleeping premature baby Harmony in her arms with her eyes planted on the television and a tiring Auyden leaned against her. I couldn't help but notice how perfect the setting was; even though they were just lazily seated in large shirts that belonged to me and messy hair that still managed to look stunning. 'Are you and Miss Erin gonna get a baby?'

I nearly chocked on absolutely nothing as my eyes widened and I started to fidget with the strings of my joggers, completely caught off guard. 'What? W-Why are you asking me that?'

'A few nights ago.' Auyden started off, her bright hazel doe eyes flickering in my direction. 'I heard you yelling, you said that she had to take your baby.'

'Oh my-' Erin gasped before letting her head fall shamefully into her free hand. She then looked up at me with a mean glare. 'I told you !' She mouthed.

I sunk deeper into the couch, thinking of a clever way to get myself out of this mess of a conversation. She must've heard us having sex, that's the only time that I tell Erin to take anything, honestly. And now, as a consequence for my loud ass mouth, I have to explain something to my daughter that I really don't want to. 'I didn't-'

'You're gonna make her buy a baby?' She asked and I watched as Erin tried to suppress a laugh with wide eyes.

'You don't buy babies mama.' I shook my head.

'Then where do you get em?' She questioned, her heavy Dominican accent laced within her tiny voice. It took everything in me not to just run out of the room.

'You don't get em from anywhere .. um.' I paused, trying to think of an innocent but truthful way to put this. 'Do you remember your auntie Niya ?'

'Yes.' She cheesed. 'Her tummy's really big, does she eat a lot ?'

'Ye-' I almost let out through a chuckle but was interrupted.

'No!' Erin cut off. 'No, it's just that ..well, your auntie is having a baby of her own.'

'She is? Well where is it?'

'It's in her tummy.'

'SHE ATE IT !?' She shouted, a shocked expression on her face. I jolted up at the loud base of her voice, surprised but amused.

'No she didn't eat it!' I sit up fully, growing anxious because of the fact that I didn't know what to say. My eyes shoot towards Erin, giving her a look that's screaming "help me nigha!".

'What, you want me to tell her the pumpkin thing?'

'No-'

'The birds and bees thing?'

'Hell no.'

'The "you'll understand when you're older" thing?'

'I'm not finna just lie, and we're already talkin about it now. She's not about to give up until she gets an explanation.'
