'How come you never told me that sum'n happened wit chu and Avery ?'

'Kenny, it's like four in the morning. Can we talk about this later or sum'n ?'

'Hell no ! ' Kenny shouted, snatching the covers from off of me. 'We gon talk about it now. '

'You done lost yo fuckin mind Kenny !? Chill the fuck out.'

'Bro what did I jus say !?' He snapped through gritted teeth.

'Ay who you talkin to ?!' I asked him, getting up from the bed. 'You know what .. I ain't finna do this .' I said, leaving out of the room and going into the guest room, locking the door behind me.

I went and got into the guest bed and under the covers, instantly closing my eyes. But that didn't last long because eventually he started to knock on the door and twisting the handle.

'Niya let me in here. '

'Leave me the fuck alone. ' I groaned.

He knocked again and I heard him sigh on the other side of the door. 'Can I come in please ?'

Even though he was making me mad I couldn't stay that way towards him. I know that he probably feels bad already. 'You gon quit the mean shit ?'

'Yes mami.'

Slowly standing I walked towards the door and unlocked it, letting him walk in past me. He came in and sat on the bed, letting his head rest in his hands as if he was stressed. He looked up at me and sighed. 'So .. um-' He paused and kissed his teeth while looking away from me.

'Whas this about chu and Avery ?'

'Kenny it was a long time ago a'ight. We didn't even like each other when that happened.'

'Nah see that's where you wrong because I always liked you. When we met I knew I liked you, and when Avery .. when he tried to jump in the picture I was ready to fight for you. And I know you didn't know that then but that's what it was.'

I didn't know what to say to him, I was speechless. I made my way towards him and sat down next to him. He kissed his teeth as I took his hand into mine and shook his head.

'Baby when me and Avery did what we did it didn't mean anything. It only happened because ..' I paused, not wanting to say. 'After what happened with Marcus he was the one who was there for me at the time. I didn't really wanna be around anyone but him. But if I knew that you cared about me like that I wouldn't have done it. It just happened.'

'So .. how come nothing more ever happened with y'all ?' He asked.

'I didn't want it to. I just wanted to be friends.'

'Did he ?'

'I don't know.' I shrugged. 'He told me that he did but I don't know for sure.' I admitted. 'None of that matters tho baby because I'm with the man that I love. I don't want Avery I want you.'
