Chapter 23: Past and Present

Okay so here's another update. Sorry for being late and sorry its going to be the only update for today. I am not well. My bronchitis has suddenly gone all bad and I am huffing, puffing and coughing like an old woman. And its next to impossible to type write now. Please forgive me. I'll update again tomorrow.

Ed's POV

I tossed and turned in bed the entire night and hardly slept. As the clock struck six, I got out of bed knowing it was useless to try and catch some sleep. So I showered and changed for school. I know it might sound girlish but the fact that I was supposed to spend time on the beach with El and Hayley was downright weird.

I wonder how El agreed to it. But given Hayley asked her then I am sure she was blackmailed into acceptance. Maybe I could blackmail Hayley and have her ask El to not come. But even I know that is not possible. Even the largest cone of chocolate icecream would never ever do that. Hayley just loves El and she had missed her a lot. Maybe even more than I had. As a result, Hayley would never miss out on the opportunity to spend time with her. I guess I'll just have to talk about it. Thankfully, that would be done with in less than 30 minutes in the gym today. I kissed my mom goodbye and left for school.

As I dorve to school, I pndered over the dilemma at hand. I don't know how to deal with this situation. We just forgived each other. We just attempted to act normal and now suddenly I have to go to the beach with El. I mean couldn't it have been some stupid disney movie or anything like that? I could've survived that. But being on the beach with her is next to impossible, Hayley or no Hayley. It would bring back all those memories and definitely marr our efforts towards reconciliation.

I reached school and parked my car in my designated 'reserved for Edward' parking and walked inside. As I reached the gym I pushed open the door and called out:

"Hey Alice, you there?"

"Well, of course I am here. You asked me to meet you here, stupid." She replied back.

This girl always has a sassy comment. I ignored her comment and continued:

"I want to talk"

"Well thats what your text said. Say something else."

"Please be serious Alice. Its about El."

"ELizabeth, Edward." She reprimanded me.

"Yeah whatever." I said and rolled my eyes at her.

"So what about her? Did you guys fight? Don't tell me you guys fought. I am gonna kill you both. You both drive me crazy, I swe..." I cut her off in between and said:

"Woah take a breath. And no we didn't fight or anything. In fact she forgived me and also asked me to forgive her. Which I did of course."

Alice looked at me in confusion and asked:

"So whats the problem then?"

"Umm, We're going to the beach on saturday."  I mumbled in reply.

"Oh My God! You guys have patched up? As in patched up patched up? But shouldn't you give a shot to friendship or something?" She asked.

"We haven't patched up. Actually, Hayley, my baby sister asked El to accompany us to the beach on saturday and she agreed."
