Chapter 29: The Date

El's POV

As I walked to the parking looking for Damian, I took out my phone from my jean's back pocket to check for Alice's message. But unfortunately my phone had no new messages. Now that's strange. I had texted her an hour ago telling her I want to talk to her about something important but she didn't reply me back. Thats so not Alice. In reality, she would have left everything and rushed to me. Is she okay? Oh come on Beth, you're just overthinking it now. She said she's busy with her mom, maybe she'll text back whenever she's free. Of course she will. I should just tell her what's so important  so I typed in the following message and pressed the send button:

Hey its an emergency. Come soon to my place.

As I reached the parking I looked around for Damian but he was no where in sight so I texted him asking where he was.

"Beth!" I heard Edward call me so I turned around to face him.

"Hey." I replied shyly. Well I am still flustered by last night's almost kiss and that is just why I have been behaving like this to him since morning everytime we met.

"You need a drive home?" He asked me as he smiled at me.

"No thanks. Damian will drive me home." I smiled back at him. Before he could say anything my phone beeped. It was Damian's text meesage saying:

On my way home, why?

Oh Oh! How stupid of me! I didn't tell him I'll be needing a drive back home. So I looked up at Edward and said to him:

" I guess I'll be needing the drive back home. Damian has left. I didn't tell him I need him to drop me home today."

Edward's face lit with a beautiful smile as he happily said:

"That's cool. Come."

Still fazed by his extremely gorgeous smile and how sexy he had been looking, I followed him to his car silently. Seriously he's so hot and I really don't think I am ever going to get used to it. Lost in my thoughts, I slipped into his car. As he sped out of the parking I heard him say something to me but because I had misssed it out I asked him:

"Sorry what were you saying?"

"You should really give up your habit of living inside that head of yours" Ed said with a laugh and as I rolled my eyes at him, he laughed a little more and continued:

"I was asking about Alice. She didn't come today. Is she okay?"

"Oh yeah. She had to help her mom or something. So she skipped school." I explained to him.

"Oh okay. Can I ask you something else?"

" Yeah sure."

"Is eveything okay between her and James?"

"I don't know. Why are you asking that out of the blue?"

"Oh well the other day I said something about how you used to say they both look good together but instead of smiling or something like that she had this really weird expression on her face. I planned on asking you but I forgot."

"Really? Are you sure? I mean if something was up then she would have definitely told me." I replied while I worried about Alice and her relationship. She really loves James a lot and he loves her to death too. I hope they are okay, I thought to myself.

"Yeah I am positive. You should ask her. I mean maybe they had a fight or something but still." Edward trailed off.

"Yeah maybe." I said feeling edgy thinking about Alice. I could feel Edward looking at me so I turned towards him and smiled reassuringly at him to let him know I was okay. He smiled back at me and turned on the stereo and One Direction's Better than Words blasted out of the speaker. My mouth hit the ground or the car' s floor in my situation at the song.
