arisa laid in bed in the dark while waiting for tom to come home from work with her eyes closed. her hands rested on top of the growing bump on her stomach, imagining the little child to come out already so she could get the chance to hold her baby.

the married couple had only found out that they were to have a child five months prior, and the pair felt as happy as they could be. their friends, family, and fans couldn't be more excited for the two, sending all of their love and support. tom and arisa's mothers had become fussy, always talking about how parenthood would be like, how to take care of a child, and when they could have the little one over.

everyone was debating on whether it would be a girl or a boy but so far, arisa and gwen were the only ones aware of the baby's gender since it was the two of them who had went to the doctors— tom was busy at the time and couldn't come, no matter how much he had wanted to.

after a few more minutes filled with silence, arisa heard the door creak open, her eyes opening slightly as light from the hallways peaked in. the room was silent apart from the sound of tom's footsteps as he walked closer to where arisa was. tom pulled the thick blanket upwards, covering arisa— he was worried she might get too cold. there was more silence for a second as tom kneeled on the ground where he was facing arisa before the female felt a hand resting on her stomach.

"hello, my love," arisa heard tom say quietly, feeling as his fingers traced random patterns on her skin. "i hope everything's okay in there and you're not giving your mum too much of a hard time— it's your dad, by the way," tom chuckled as arisa felt a small smile rise up on her face.

"i can't wait for you to be born. your mummy and i are very excited to meet you and so is everybody else. your grandmas are already talking about spending time with you." tom places soft kisses on the bump, making goosebumps rise on arisa's arms.

"i'm going to spoil you so much despite your mum telling me not to. she'd say that you'd already have all you need but she'd always say the same for herself back then and until now. but i'd constantly say that nothing will ever be too much for the two of you. don't tell her that, though. i have no doubt in my mind that she would yell at me and punch my arm, arguing and saying that just because you can doesn't mean that you should."

for a few more minutes, tom was just mumbling against arisa's stomach and kissing it lightly. he'd tell stories to the growing child, mostly of his and arisa's experiences or about his day or about what he imagines the future to be.

"i wonder if you'll have your mother's eyes or her smile. if you'll be as beautiful, as kind, as determined as her. i wonder if you'll be the most precious little boy with the always messily thrown curly hair. i wonder if you'll have her clumsiness or her sarcastic and violent nature. i hope you wouldn't, i really don't think i can handle more punches, i've already got enough bruises," arisa heard tom chuckle.

arisa's eyes fluttered open as her hand made its way to touch tom's curls, her favorite hairstyle of his. "you're going to be an amazing dad," she whispered. tom's head jerked up in surprise, his eyes finding his wife's. "i'm sorry, darling. did i wake you up?"

arisa giggled, shaking her head. "no, you didn't. i was awake the whole time but i didn't want to interrupt. our child's lucky to have the best dad in the world."

tom laughed slightly as he climbed up the bed to sit beside arisa, holding her hand in his slightly larger one. "and he or she's extremely lucky to have the most amazing mum in the world," he told arisa, leaning down in order to be able to place a kiss on her forehead.

arisa sat up as best as she could with a big baby bump, tom helping her as she does so. she took off her— tom's— shirt with a slight struggle, watching as tom's expression turned into one of confusion. arisa felt the blood rush to her cheeks as tom began to admire her body— even the stretch marks that were forming.
