It has been a month since Adelaide and Gwen got out of the clutches of Morgana. Adelaide and Arthur decided to get out of the castle for a few hours and away from their duties. The rode into the forest.

"This really is the most perfect spot, is it not?" Arthur stopped his horse and climbed off and looked around.

"It is, My Lord." Adelaide said smiling as she climbed from her horse.

"I sometimes forget how beautiful Camelot is." Arthur said, "but never hoe beautiful my Queen is." Arthur smiled at Adelaide. Suddenly it sounded as if one of the horses made a sound.

"Was that you, Merlin?" Arthur questioned Merlin.

"It was the horse." Merlin said

"Because if you were mocking your King--" Arthur said stepping closer to Merlin, Adelaide stood by her horse smiling at the two.

"I wasn't" Merlin denied,"I wouldn't" Merlin shakes his head.

"There is a special punishment reserved for such impudence." Arthur said before her laughed and walked to his horse.

"Here?" Adelaide gestured towards a spot as Merlin carried toe blanket closer. Merlin glanced over his shoulder towards Arthur.

"I haven't seen him this happy in a long time." Merlin said to Adelaide as they fixed the blanket.

"Yes. He has changed, hasn't he?" Adelaide said smiling at Arthur who had turned to look at her.

"Yeah. I think he has." Merlin said. Arthur throws Merlin with his empty water bag.

"I think my dog can catch better than you." Arthur said

"Probably because you treat him better."Merlin said as he walked to get the water bag.

"Are you blind?" Arthur questioned, when he saw Merlin staring at the tree.

"Something happened here." Merlin said.

"It's stags marking their territory." Arthur said brushing it off.

"No." Merlin shakes his head, "This was caused by magic."

"Merlin, who knows more about hunting, me or you?" Arthur said. "Its rotting season, half the trees in the forest looks like that Come on you King awaits." Arthur said and sat down next to Adelaide.

Arriving in Camelot, Adelaide saw lots of people scattered across the court yard, some were injured others weren't harmed.

"What happened?" Arthur questioned Leon as he got off his horse.

"They sought sanctuary at the western Garrison." Arthur said.

"Ashwick's been at peace since my Father's time." Arthur said.

Adelaide sat on her horse staring at the people in concern.

Later that day in the council chambers

Adelaide sat next to Arthur.

"Two days ago, the city of Helva was attacked. Only a handful of People managed to escape." Leon said

"Who is responsible?" Arthur asked

"First we assumed it was the saxons. They've been active in that area before, but the refugees tell a different story. They say magic was involved." Leon said and Arthur leaned forward his hands folded as his elbows leaned against his legs.

"Morgana?" Arthur questioned.

"The evidence would suggest so, sire." Leon said

"Strengthen the Garrison. Double the patrol on the border." Arthur said

All the knights left the council chambers.

"Why would Morgana attack Helva?" Merlin questioned.

"She must have her reasons." Arthur said

"That's one of the places where magic is practised freely. Why would she attack her own? It makes no sense." Merlin said but Arthur could not give him an answer.

Next Morning

Adelaide woke up and saw Arthur holding a plate.

"Arthur" Adelaide smiled at him as she sat up.

"Good Morning." Arthur said smiling at Adelaide.

"That is so sweet." Adelaide said as Arthur sets the plate down.

"It's nothing" Arthur said.

Suddenly there was a sound of something falling behind the curtains that separates the bed and the dining table.

"Who's there?" Arthur asked turning around. Merlin's head popped out from behind the curtain. "Merlin. What do you think you are doing in the royal chambers?" Arthur asked and Adelaide raised her eyebrow at the tone of his voice.

"I thought, um.. I heard voices." Merlin said and Adelaide suppressed a giggle.

"Maybe next time you'll be good enough to knock." Arthur said.

"Yes sire." Merlin said and left.

"Merlin." Adelaide called him, which made him stop and turn around. "Thank you."Adelaide smiled at Merlin, who smiled back and left.

"It was my idea." Arthur said as he looked at Adelaide, who smiled at him.

After breakfast Adelaide stood behind her screen getting dressed. Recently she has been feeling unwell so Gwen went to get Gauis, while Arthur was on the search for a sorceress that was spotted in Camelot's borders.

"My Lady, Gwen said that you wanted to see me." Gauis said entering Adelaide and Arthur's chambers.

"Yes, these last few weeks, I have been feeling unwell. I thought maybe you could give me something." Adelaide said stepping out from behind the screen. She could feel Gauis' stare on her as he analysed her. She saw him frown before he walked closer.

Almost an hour later Gauis stood before Adelaide once more.

"Did you find out what wrong?" Adelaide asked leaning back in her chair behind the desk where she was looking through paper work.

"Yes." Gauis said.

"And?" Adelaide questioned

"Well there is nothing I can do for you now." Gauis said.

"Gauis, what's wrong with me?" Adelaide asked and Gauis looked at her, he had a small smile on his face.
