It had been almost a month since Uther's dead and Arthur was crowned King of Camelot. Adelaide had not talked to Arthur in days since he was busy ruling the kingdom. Every now and then Adelaide could hear Merlin and Arthur arguing, usually Merlin doing something stupid and then Arthur shouting at him.

Every once in a while Arthur would ask Adelaide to join him for dinner, which she does. Most of the times when Arthur is busy with the council Adelaide goes riding with one of the knight (Percival, Leon, Elyan and Gwaine) if one of them are not on duty she would go walking in the lower market. Sometimes she helps the cook out in the kitchens or she does Gauis' rounds for him.

Adelaide was dressed in a in a long sleeved green dress. She was making her way down the hall near the council chambers to meet Gwen. She passed the council chambers and stopped in her tracks. She saw Merlin staring at a key that hung around Arthur's belt. Suddenly Arthur's pants dropped to the ground but luckily his shirt covered what needed to be covered. Adelaide held in her laugh as Arthur bent down to pull up his pants when Merlin ran forward and tried to 'help' Arthur. They started rolling on the ground and Arthur kept shouting at Merlin to stop.

Adelaide let out a small laugh and some of the men on the council looked her way. She curtsied and gave them a small smile. When Merlin and Arthur finally stood up, Arthur glanced to the door and saw Adelaide. Adelaide saw a bit of red appearing on his cheeks as he cleared his throat and walked back to the council table and continued talking.

Adelaide watched as Merlin held the key behind his back. Hiding it from Arthur.

"Do I want to know what you are up to?" Adelaide questioned Merlin as he came to a stop next to her. Merlin looked at her before slowly shaking his head, "No, I don't think so."

"Is it something that is going to get you in trouble with Gauis?" Adelaide questioned and Merlin nodded. "I didn't see anything." Adelaide said walking away. "Except for Arthur's butt?" Merlin called after her smiling but she ignored him.

+Next day+

Adelaide woke up the next morning just after dawn. She got dressed in a white and black dress, that ties at the front.

Adelaide was a little worried about Merlin since she had not seen him since he took the key from Arthur. It was just before noon when the bells could be heard going off. Meaning that something was either stole or something happened in the castle.

Adelaide walked to her door and saw a guard walking down the hall. "Why are the bells ringing?" Adelaide asked him. "Something was stolen from the vaults of Camelot." He said and Adelaide nodded and the guard left.

Adelaide was by her window reading a book she borrowed from the royal library. Her door opened and Arthur poked his head around it. "Arthur, What can I do for you?" Adelaide asked setting the book down to look at him.
