Jayden's P.O.V.I felt someone shake me, pausing for a second I open my eyes as they shake me again. Just as they were going to shake me once again, I turned over and grabbed their arms. It was Verne, One of the Ghoulies.
"You better have a good reason to be waking me up." I said as I sat up and ran a hand through my hair.
"Well since I heard that little snake charmer was following in her mother's footsteps. I thought I give you something."
I rolled my eyes when he said my nickname that the Ghoulies gave me. Verne led me to the closet and got out a box. I stood there, still in the clothes I was wearing the night before.
He opened the box to reveal a pistol inside. I was shocked.
"Why do I need a gun?" I ask.
"In case the deal gets dangerous." He tells me.
I scrunched my eyebrows, "Since when would the deal get dangerous? I thought it was just pick up the stuff, drive, and drop it off?" I ask.
Verne sighed, "You have a lot to learn." He said before walking in a different direction.
I took the box off the ground and carried it to my moms room where I could put it somewhere, where I won't loose it.
Then I snuck into Malachai's room where I kept a box of my clothes under his bed. In case I slept over or found myself here I could switch into fresh clothes.
Putting one of Malachai's shirts on I put back on my converses and left a note on the counter for my mom. I went back into her room and grabbed the pistol. Putting it in my back pocket.
When I got into the truck, I saw there was a note on the steering wheel;
2235 Applewood road
behind the dumpsterI sighed as I started the engine, glancing at my phone that had two texts from my father telling me that my mom told him where I staying for the night. The second one said that he loved me.
~
Once I got there, I got out and headed behind the gas station on Applewood road. I saw a guy standing behind the dumpster.
Walking towards him, he looked like he was smiling.
"I've been waiting. Where's the money?" the guy asks as I dug in my pockets for cash. Verne didn't give me any money that the guy needed.
I pulled out a hundred dollar bill that I got from Christmas.
"I got this." I said handing my hand with the dollar in it out.
He rips it out of my hand, staring at me. One of his hands behind his back.
"It's not enough money, " he said, "You're not getting the end of the deal."
My hand went to my back pocket, hand on the pistol. I slowly pull it out as the guy did so with his gun.
"I don't have anymore except for the clothes on my back and the converse on my feet. Now, since you probably work for Lodge inc. You wouldn't want your boss to come to a crime scene, right?" I ask.
He growls and walks towards me until I could feel the gun resting on my forehead. I held mine to his chest.
"You really think that killing me is getting the end of the deal? I don't think you want the Ghoulies or the Snake Charmer searching for your head." I said.
He looked at my shoes and smirked. I knew what that meant.
"If you give me your shoes, I will give you your end of the deal," he said.
