(Author's Note: So I've made my own version of an edit. And I hope you like it even know that it's not a great one.)

It's a classic trope of mob movies. Rich, high-rolling gangster takes small-town kid under his wing. Small town kid is ushered into an intoxicating but dangerous life of crime.

Jayden's P.O.V.

I woke up with the sun glaring through my bedroom window. The stench of rotting food hit me as I groaned, getting out of bed and walking over to the window to close it.

After Jughead and I talked and joked around at Pop's diner last night. we went back to our dad's trailer and watch a marathon of the Halloween movies. I gotta say that Micheal Myers gets me all the time, since I hide behind blankets or pillows all the time.

I slipped on some sweatpants and a green shirt with some converses. Yesterday, someone cut off the statue of General Picken's head and the cops been by here a couple of times. I walked out of my room and down the hall towards the kitchen when the doorbell rang.

Jughead was in the living room so he got the door while I drank my orange juice that I just poured not a few seconds before.

As I drank my orange juice, FP and I exchanged looks as the sheriff came walking into the trailer.

"Sheriff Keller, what a surprise," Jughead said as he walked into the kitchen.

"Jughead. Jayden. FP." The Sheriff started.

"As you know, someone stole General Pickens head yesterday. And I also noticed that Jayden has a track record for stealing things." The sheriff spoke as I spit out my orange juice.

"I-I didn't steal the stupid head," I said.

"We don't have General Pickens head, and we do not know who stole it," Jughead adds.

"Same as the last four times you came by to ask us and our neighbors," FP said.

"I'm sure that you didn't. But since Jayden decided to steal a candy bar once from a gas station. I'm as suspicious as you are." The Sheriff said as FP glared at me.

I looked at my father, staring into his eyes. "Okay, that was in middle school. And I was dared to that." I answered.

"You know Sheriff, these visits are starting to feel a lot like harassment. There's absolutely no evidence. Zero proof whatsoever pointing to Jayden or any particular group of suspects." Jughead said.

"Well, you did write a rather scathing article about the General's legacy. Which prompted the Southside Serpents to stop by at Pickens' Day with an axe to grind." The sheriff said.

I put on my beanie and my winter jacket that I could switch after school with my Serpent jacket. Zipping it up, I took the piece of toast from the toaster and bit a piece of it off.

"I'm actually writing a new article about how you seem to care more about catching a vandal than the Black Hood. Can I get a quote?" Jughead asks sarcastically.

FP and I share glances as we both silently laughed. It was funny to see the sarcastic side of Jughead back.

At school, Toni and I were sitting across from each other hanging out in the students lounge during break. I was telling her about my eventful morning.

"So you spit out your orange juice when Sheriff Keller mentioned your track record?" Toni asks as I nod.

"Yea, It just flew everywhere! To be honest, I think my father was more surprised to hear that I stole a candy bar in middle school." I laughed as Toni laughed a little and shook her head.
