Missing Pieces

One

By the age of eighteen, Kirishima had already found the love of his life. Bakugou had appeared in his life shortly after he finished high school, at the coffee shop the blond was working at for the summer.
And now, at twenty one years old, he was absolutely sure that Bakugou was the one.
He still couldn't believe he was lucky enough to have such a strong, manly partner for so long, but no matter how much he asked, he couldn't make it permanent.
He just wanted some sort of proof...something solid to show the world that they were a set.
Maybe that proof didn't have to be in a marriage license...
"Babe," he decided to bring it up one day as they curled up in bed, Kirishima's head in Bakugou's lap and Bakugou's hand in his hair.
"Yeah?" Bakugou was focused on the movie playing on the laptop in front of him, some action flick with tons of explosions.
"Do you...want kids someday?"
"Huh?"
"I'm just asking cuz I'm curious..."
"I don't fuckin' now, Shitty Hair. What's bringing this up now of all times?"
"I dunno...I guess I just...think it would be cool to try it."
"Jesus, can't we just get a dog or something?"
"The apartment doesn't allow pets." Kirishima explained. "And besides...I think you'd make a great dad."
"What?! No!" Bakugou's face was bright red. "No way."
"You would! You'd be awesome at it!"
Bakugou sighed. "It's kinda a permanent decision, though, isn't it?"
"I mean...yeah..."
"And it would be hard to do. We're both dudes, and adoption is hard."
"Yeah but..."
"And we're twenty one...and unmarried..."
"Katsuki..."
"What?"
"We could foster..."
"Foster..." Bakugou stopped petting Kirishima's hair, to his dismay.
"Yeah...it's temporary so if it's not our cup of tea we can just throw in the towel and get a fish or something."
"I guess."
"You guess? Is that a yeah?" Kirishima sat up, looking Bakugou in the eyes.
"Yeah."
"Really? For real?"
"If you keep asking like that, I'm gonna change my mind on you."
Kirishima felt so light. Bakugou had actually agreed to making some sort of big decision with him.
"So..." Bakugou said after a short while of silence. Kirishima settled back down, resting his head on his boyfriend's shoulder.
"Yeah?"
"How are you going to do it? Is there a number we can call?"
"I don't know...I'll check online after you go for work."
"And what are we going to tell our parents?"
Bakugou wasn't out to his parents yet. Nobody knew they were dating except their close friends. Everyone else just thought they were roommates.
Oh my god, they were roommates.
"I'll just say that I'm trying to make the world a better place for a child in need." Kirishima explained.
"Or you could tell people that we wanted a pet and the apartment wont allow dogs."
Kirishima laughed. "God, I fucking love you."
Bakugou rolled his eyes, leaning over slightly to kiss his forehead.
"Tch. Whatever."
