"So, what kinds of things did you learn at school?" Kirishima asked Riko that night as the entire "family" sat around the table with the dinner that Bakugou had cooked. He looked so damn interested in her answer, like a proper dad would. Fuck, why did Bakugou have to fall for somebody so damn perfect.
"Nothing." Riko poked at her rice with disinterest. Bakugou found himself desperately wanting her to eat and he didn't understand why. He normally always wanted people to enjoy his cooking, sure, but this time was different. He couldn't explain it.
"You learned nothing?" Kirishima pried. Bakugou tried to signal him from the other side of the table. This was a bad way of going about it. He was only going to cause a tantrum.
"Yeah. Nothin'."
"I'm sure she's just too smart for school." Bakugou, finally drawing Kirishima's attention to him. The redhead was confused by the look Bakugou was giving him at first but eventually he caught on, choosing to bring his focus to Hajime.
"Who wants to play a board game after this?" He asked, wiping food off the toddler's face.
"Not me." Riko scoffed.
"Okay, do you want to watch tv or something?"
"No thanks."
Kirishima got that worried look on his face, the one Bakugou hated to see.
The poor guy just wanted bonding time.
"Why don't we go to the park when school is over tomorrow. We can feed the ducks. I'll even buy fireworks." Bakugou suggested.
Riko looked conflicted. Bakugou internally smiled at his accomplishment. He KNEW she would be the type to like fireworks.
"We could get ice cream after." Kirishima added, eyes lighting up.
"Yeah. How does that sound?"
Riko scowled. She looked like she REALLY wanted to, but something was holding her back.
"It's your choice, sweetie." Kirishima said.
Finally, Riko let out a long sigh. "Okay. Fine."
Kirishima beamed like the god damn sun. Bakugou felt himself...somehow...falling even further.
Riko finished off the rest of her dinner and Kirishima finished cleaning up Hajime's mess before they all decided to turn in for the night. Bakugou showered while Kirishima tucked Hajime into bed and then they switched positions, Kirishima showering while Bakugou settled into bed.
He didn't get to relax long before the toddler started crying.
"Fuuuuck." He groaned, rolling over so he could reach the cradle enough to rock it.
But he didn't stop. Bakugou wanted to throw the whole thing out the window.
"What's wrong, babe?" Kiri came into the bedroom, still drying his wet hair.
"It won't stop crying."
"Here," the redhead walked over to the cradle, picking Hajime up and rocking him in his arms. The crying stopped almost instantly.
"How do you do that?" Bakugou asked.
"No idea..." Kiri shrugged, sitting down on the edge of the bed. Bakugou sat up, moving so he was seated right next to Kirishima.
"It's probably because your arms are so nice to be in or whatever." Bakugou felt his face heat up. He knew that he must be bright red but, fuck, Kirishima just needed to hear that. He deserved it. He deserved the fucking world and Bakugou didn't know how to give it to him.
"Bakugou...you're so affectionate lately." Kirishima leaned against him. He was so warm...so sturdy.
"I guess...I'm going soft or whatever."
"I like it."
"Of course ya do, shitty hair." Bakugou kissed his still-wet hair. "I do too."
