Bakugou spent the next few days in a confused daze.
He was still in shock about what had happened. He couldn't believe that he had fucked it up with Kirishima...over something so stupid. Why couldn't he have been truthful? Why couldn't he have just told Kirishima how he felt? That he didn't want to bring in any more kids because losing Riko and Hajime had HURT.
And he did love Kirishima. He loved him so much. He hadn't even realized that he never said it to the dumbass.
"Excuse me, you got my order wrong?"
"Hah?!" Bakugou glared down at the lady he was serving, daring her to make a scene.
"I ordered a medium rare steak...this is a salad."
Bakugou scoffed. "I'll get you a new order."
"Please do it without the attitude, kid."
"YOU KNOW FUCKING WHAT-"
"Bakugou!" The other waiter, the one with the big lips and bigger body, called him over from the kitchen before he could punch this snobby lady in the throat.
Bakugou sighed, walking over to his supervisor.
"What's gotten into you lately? You're getting orders wrong, yelling at the customers, coming in late with messy hair...I think you should take some time off."
"I'm not doing that. I need the money." Now that he didn't have Kirishima to help him pay the bills, he was in over his head. It didn't help that his boyfriend had left right around the time everything was due.
"Well, you've got to get rid of the attitude then." Satou stated.
Bakugou groaned. How had this chump gotten to a level of authority above him? He had been working here so much longer than the brunet, but here he was in a supervisor position, even allowed to cook in the kitchen. He was in the exact spot Bakugou had wanted to be in by a year ago.
And yet, the blond was still tending to the tables and washing dishes like he had been since he started working here. He would never become a chef at this rate.
"I think I'm going to take my break now."
"Good idea."
Bakugou headed outside, dropping into the bench out front. He let out a long sigh, looking up at the night sky above him.
"Kacchan?"
He was pulled from his moment of peace by a familiar voice.
Midoriya and Uraraka...who was also a Midoriya now, if we're being honest, were walking into the restaurant. Midoriya...Izuku...whispered something in his wife's ear. She nodded, walking inside while he sat down next to his childhood friend.
"I was hoping we'd run into you. Eijirou said you worked here."
"Yeah..." Bakugou exchanged the sad face he was wearing for an angry one. He couldn't show weakness in front of Deku. "How's the whole baby thing going?"
The smaller of the two looked crushed, more crushed than Bakugou had ever seen him.
"Not good, actually. No matter how much trying we do, it just doesn't seem to work." He sighed. "What if it's my fault?"
Bakugou swallowed. He didn't understand why the nerd was opening up to him like this, why he even tried to be a friend, even after all the bullying that the blond had done to him over the years.
"Me and Kirishima broke up." If the nerd was going to open up to him like this, he might as well open back.
"What?!" Midoriya looked shocked.
"It was hard enough saying it once. Don't make me say it again." Just forming the words with his mouth...it made the whole thing tangible. He hated it. He didn't want to be Kirishima's ex. He wanted to be his everything.
"That's awful! You were both so good for each other."
"Yeah. We were. But then I screwed it all up." He felt tears in his eyes but he blinked them away. He might be telling Deku about the breakup, but he sure as hell wasn't going to cry in front of him.
"You really love him...don't you?"
"Obviously, dumbass."
"Well...you should try and get him back."
"It's too fucking late for that. I've fucked this up beyond repair."
Midoriya shrugged, getting up from the bench. "You'll never know until you try."
