"Congratulations, you two! It's about time!" Mina shrieked when they told the squad the news over brunch the next afternoon.
"You were the one trash talking Katsuki non-stop when we broke up." Kirishima pointed out.
"She was trash talking me?!"
"Of course I was. Eijirou was so broken hearted. It's what bros do."
"So, do you guys have a date in mind?" Sero asked.
"Not really." Kirishima was blushing softly. He looked so precious. "We haven't gotten that far yet."
"Definitely during the summer. I don't like the cold." Bakugou stated, taking Kirishima's hand.
"Summer sounds nice." The redhead grinned that sharp toothed grin.
"Did you guys tell your parent yet?" Kaminari asked.
"Mine were awful when we told them." Jiro said with a sigh. "Too excited."
"Mine too. We invited them all over for dinner last night and they embarrassed themselves." Bakugou recalled how his mother had fawned over Kirishima all night after that, asking how he "managed to win over his little boy's heart".
Bakugou wasn't used to being coddled, so the whole thing was completely awkward for him.
They had to deal with Kiri's parents tonight, but he was sure that it wouldn't be nearly as embarrassing as last night was.
"We're also thinking about getting a bigger apartment." Kirishima explained.
"Why?" Sero asked.
"Oh my god, Kiri, are you pregnant?" Mina squealed.
"No! What the fuck!?" Kirishima coughed. "If any of us got pregnant, it would be Katsuki, anyway."
Kaminari spit out his drink. "Dude..."
"I'm not pregnant. I don't have the parts for that." Bakugou sighed. Why did his fiancé have to attract such idiots.
Fiancé...it felt kinda good to say that. It would feel even better to say Husband, though.
"We should get going." Kirishima stood. "Bakugou was supposed to go in for an interview today."
"Oh damn, trying for a new job?!" Sero asked.
"Yeah. I'm gonna nail that interview." The blond declared with resolve.
"Good luck!" Mina cheered.
"Don't worry about the bill, guys. I'll cover it." Sero assured them.
"As always."
Kirishima's phone rang when they were on their way home. The redhead halted, grabbing onto his fiancé's arm to stop him. He pulled the device out of his pocket, stepping under a veranda to take the call.
"Oh? Yep. Yeah. Great! No, we already talked about it. Absolutely. As soon as possible. Thank you!" Bakugou listened to his voice carefully, trying to figure out what the hell this call was about.
When Kirishima finally put the phone away, he looked up at the blond, eyes filled with tears.
"What's wrong?" Bakugou asked, reaching for his hand. He didn't want Kirishima to cry like that.
Except, when he let out a soft laugh, a relieved kind of sound, Bakugou realized that he wanted to hear that sound forever. These tears were happy ones.
"She relapsed and got arrested."
"Who?"
"The girl reading this."
"Ei, what the fuck?"
"Their mom, Katsuki. Riko and Hajime's mom relapsed."
"That's not a good thing, shitty hair."
"No. It's not. But the kids are being taken away permanently."
"Eijiro, that's terrible. You're so happy about a family tragedy."
"We're first on the list to adopt!"
"I mean, that's fantastic, but are we just going to ignore the fact that you're happy about a woman relapsing and getting arrested."
"Yes." Kirishima declared. "Because we're going to be parents again."The next chapter is the epilogue and then I'm going to start on the next fanfic, which will be a fantasy Au kiribaku. Dragon Slayer will be up by the end of the weekend.
