"You haven't been yourself lately, lad. What's on your mind?" Taishiro asked Kirishima as they sat outside the gym for their lunch break. Amajiki looked up from his takoyaki, curious.
"I broke up with Bakugou." Kirishima admitted. He still couldn't believe he had done it, and he had never regretted anything more.
"That's awful! You were so set on marrying him."
"Yeah...I was...but he didn't want that we should have cut ties a while ago." Kirishima sighed.
"You're still young. You've got plenty of time to find somebody who gets you." Taishiro assured him.
"You're almost forty and you haven't gotten married, sensei." Amajiki stated.
"I'm married to the gym." Taishiro replied. "And if Eijirou isn't married by the time I retire, I'll let him take over." The older man smacked Kirishima on the back lightly. The redhead let himself smile a little.
"Yeah...maybe..."***
As Kirishima was exiting the gym that night, ready to head home to Mina's place, he heard footsteps heading toward him. He stiffened, ready to fight in case it was a mugger or something.
But when he turned around, eyes landing on a familiar head of ash blond hair, he sighed in relief.
"Katsuki..."
"We need to talk."?
"I have nothing to say to you." Kirishima started to walk away, but Bakugou caught his arm.
"Hey, just hear me out..."
"No, Katsuki."
"Ei, come on. All you have to do is listen to me for five minutes and then I'll never talk to you again." Bakugou's eyes were watery. He wasn't the type to beg, but that was exactly what he was doing now.
"Okay, fine. I'll listen."
"Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me."
Should we sit down?" Kirishima gestured to a nearby bench.
"Yeah."
"Cool." the redhead sat down. Bakugou sat beside him, leg bouncing nervously.
"So...I came out to my parents."
"What?"
"I told my parents that I'm gay."
"How did they take it?"
"Pretty well. I didn't tell them about you. It's new to me...I'm not ready to talk about that stuff with them."
"Yeah..."
"Look, Ei...I love you. I didn't realize that I never said it to you...But I've been in love with you since our third date, when we went to that all you can eat buffet and you ate three giant platefuls of food...and I thought...this is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with."
Kirishima swallowed.
"And if you want to end it for good, I'll leave. I won't keep pushing you. I'd just feel really shitty if I didn't try to get you back."
"Katsuki...I don't know about this..."
"I'm sorry for snapping at you. I should have known to keep my emotions in check...and I should have tried to understand how you felt."
"I know you're not good with emotions. I should have just talked to you like a normal person...instead of just yelling." Kirishima reached over, taking Bakugou's hand.
"Just so you know...I didn't say no to more kids because I didn't want to be a family. I just couldn't imagine having any kids other than those two."
"Yeah. I kinda guessed." Kirishima bit his lip.
"I would adopt those kids in a heartbeat if I could."
"Me too." The redhead leaned forward, pressing his lips against Bakugou's. God, he had missed this feeling so much, the warmth of his mouth, the taste, the soft scent of the blond's shampoo. When he pulled away, he kept his eyes closed for a second before looking the other right in the eyes.
"I think...we should try any make this work again."
"Yeah." Bakugou nodded. "Me too."
