Getting Riko to bed wasn't hard. She ran off to her room after dinner and when Kirishima checked on her a few minutes later, she was already curled up and sleeping.
Kiri adjusted her blankets a little, patting her on the head before sneaking out of the room.
When he entered the other bedroom, it was to find Bakugou sitting on the end of their bed, rocking Hajime's cradle with his foot.
"She asleep?" He asked.
"Yeah."
"So's this one." He pulled his legs up onto the bed and rolled onto his back.
"Do you mind walking her to school? It's on your way to work."
"Yeah. Whatever."
"I'll just take Hajime with me for now. Taishiro won't mind too much. He loves kids."
"And that emo kid?"
"Amajiki doesn't have a shift tomorrow. He got time off since his boyfriend's in the hospital."
"So you won't be able to take some time off for a while, huh?"
"Probably not. Why? Were you planning something?"
"No."
Kirishima smiled, crawling over Bakugou to reach his side of the bed. Bakugou liked the outside but Kirishima never figured out why. He liked to pretend it was because he wanted to protect Kiri from danger. But it was probably so he could get up to pee in the night without waking him.
Which, to be fair, was still sweet of him.
"Hey, Katsuki?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you liking this so far? It's not too much for you?"
"It's fine."
"Ah...good." Kirishima shifted closer to his boyfriend. He was always so warm and smelled fresh from the shower. "Katsuki?"
"What."
"Earlier...when the social worker dropped the kids off...you said something..."
"What did I say?"
"That you'd had experience."
"With what?"
"Bratty kids?"
"What about it?"
Kirishima sighed. "What did you mean by that? Do you have siblings?"
"We've known each other for three years. You should know that I'm an only child by now."
"I wasn't sure." Kirishima insisted. "Did you babysit or something?"
"No."
"Then who was that bratty child you were talking about?"
Bakugou sighed, annoyed.
"It was me, shitty hair."
"You?"
"I was a bratty child and nobody ever did anything but yell at me. I just...don't want that kid to end up like me."
"You're not bratty."
"I mean...not anymore." Bakugou shrugged. "I've changed because..." He trailed off.
"Because of what?"
"God, you're a dumbass."
"What? What did I do?"
"I changed because of you."
Kirishima felt like he was floating. This was the most romantic think Bakugou had ever said to him.
"Oh, Katsuki, that makes me so happy to hear."
"Well, it's fucking true, okay? You made me a better man than I could ever be without you."
These were starting to sound like proposal words. We're these proposal words?
"So thanks...or whatever."
...not proposal words.
Damn.
"I love you." Kirishima whispered. Bakugou shifted, rolling onto his side to engulf Kiri in his arms.
God, he was warm.
God, he was like home.
"Go the fuck to sleep, Eijirou." Bakugou said, digging his fingers into his head of red hair. "I'll see you in the mornjng, shitty hair."
