"He's so round! I'm sure he'll make a sturdy young man." Taishiro complemented, squishing Hajime's cheeks.
Kirishima's boss was absolutely in love with the toddler. It was clear that keeping him at the Gym during the day wasn't going to be a problem.
"So, how's Mirio?" Kiri asked.
"Ah, he got shot trying to help a woman being mugged." Taishiro explained.
"Holy crap, seriously?" Kirishima set down the weight he was holding. "He literally got shot? Aren't guns illegal in Japan?"
"They are, but somebody got ahold of one. He's doing fine, though. That's what Tamaki said anyway."
"I'm glad. I don't know what Amajiki would do if he lost his boyfriend."
"Fiancé."
"Huh?"
"They just got engaged."
"What?! Really?!"
Man, it seemed like everybody was getting engaged lately.
Everybody except a certain redhead and his incredibly hot boyfriend.
"Yeah. It happened last weekend. Don't beat yourself up over not knowing, kiddo. I only found out from Mirio yesterday."
"I'm happy for them. Mirio is really good for Amajiki. Especially with his self esteem issues." Kirishima got up from sorting the weights. "I'm going to replace the towels in the showers. Take care of Hajime for me."
"Will do." Taishiro was already playing peek-a-boo with the child.
Kirishima had been working at the gym since he graduated high school. Taishiro had taken interest in him way back when he was in school, when he came here to work out after classes. It was a dream job for him. He could work out whenever he wanted and the pay was enough to keep up with his bills. He could probably pay everything on his own if Bakugou wanted to quit and be a house boyfriend, but he wouldn't have the spare cash that he found useful to have around.
"Kirishima!"
Kiri looked up from his work, seeing a familiar head of green hair.
"Midoriya! What's up little dude?!"
"Not much! You still work here?"
"Yeah. I like it here."
Even though Midoriya was Bakugou's childhood friend (or the child of his mom's friend, a he put it) the two didn't hang out much. The last time Kirishima had seen Midoriya was at his and Ochaco's wedding.
"It suits you!" He said. "How's Kacchan?"
"He's...himself..." Kirishima shrugged, folding a towel. "I heard you and Ochaco were trying to have a baby?"
Midoriya laughed softly. "Yeah. It's not going so well."
"You just gotta keep at it." Kirishima stated. "And make us the god parents!"
Midoriya laughed again. "I was thinking about making Todoroki the god father."
"Dude, he was already your best man. Spread the love a little."
"Tenya...maybe..."
Kirishima held his hand to his chest, pretending to be insulted.
"So, what brings you here, anyway?" He asked.
"I was passing through and figured I'd pay you guys a visit, but you weren't home so I wanted to see if you still worked here at least."
"You're in luck! Bakugou is working at a restaurant near the school."
"I never pictured him to end up in customer service. Does he yell at customers?"
Kirishima shook his head. "Not that I've heard."
"He's really grown, then." Midoriya observed. "I'm proud of him.
Kirishima thought back to the night before, to Bakugou's words, how he had admitted to changing because of Kiri. He hadn't noticed a change at all, but clearly it was there if other people did.
"Yeah." He grinned. "I'm proud of him too."
