Bakugou was tempted to destroy this interview. If they didn't get accepted, there wouldn't be a problem. They could just go back to their normal lives.
But Kirishima was so fucking excited that morning, cleaning the house with more passion than he ever had, making sure the place was as child friendly as possible. His face was so lit up. Bakugou just couldn't bring himself to hurt his boyfriend like that.
And so, he pulled himself out of bed and helps Kirishima in his tasks. When the social worker came to inspect the place, he remained on his best behaviour, hoping that he looked like a proper dad. He had even dressed up in really nice clothes, the vest and dress shirt that Kirishima had bought him for Christmas last year.
He didn't admit that the outfit was perfectly tailored to him or that it brought out his eyes. That would be going too far.
"The place looks good and all your background checks went well. Are you able to take them in tomorrow?"
"Them?" Bakugou really hoped this wasn't what he thought it was.
"Ah, yes. Did nobody tell you?"
"Tell us what?" Even Kirishima was surprised about this.
"The kids we assigned to you are siblings. They're kind of troubled."
"Troubled?" Bakugou did NOT want some brats.
"They've been from foster home to foster home. Their mother is in and out of rehab so they never stay in one place for too long."
"That's not too bad. I'm sure we can handle it."
Why did he have to fall for such an optimistic guy?
"Great! We can drop Hajime and Riku off tomorrow around ten?"
Bakugou wanted to groan at the thought of having to wake up before eleven, but he kept quiet for Kirishima's sake.
The social worker had them fill out some paperwork before leaving the couple alone to process this new information.
"Two kids?" Bakugou dropped onto the bed, undoing the top button of his shirt.
"I swear, I had no idea they were giving us two. Maybe I filled something out wrong on the forms?"
"Eh. Whatever. We're already in this situation. We might as well make the most of it."
"Thank you so much for going along with this. I know you don't like change."
"What makes you think that?" Bakugou growled.
Kirishima smiled, shrugging his shoulders. He made his way to the bed, helping Bakugou with his clothes.
"You look really handsome in this." He said, sliding this vest over his shoulders and folding it up.
"Yeah, whatever." Bakugou turned his head away so Kirishima couldn't see him blushing. Of COURSE he looked handsome. Despite having a fashion sense that consisted of crocs, camo shorts, and other terrible pieces, Kirishima knew clothing.
And he knew Bakugou's body better than his own mother did at this point.
"You are! You're such a handsome guy!" Kirishima looked back up and Bakugou tried to keep a straight face.
He failed, of course, like always.
"Fuck, don't do that."
"Do what?"
"Give me that face. It makes me feel weird."
"It makes you feel all fuzzy inside, babe. That's just love." Kirishima gave him the softest of kisses, right on his cheek. Bakugou groaned.
"What's wrong?" Kiri asked, eyes getting all big and shiny. Fuck, he was cute.
"You missed, idiot." Bakugou pulled Kirishima in to kiss his lips. They were gentle and welcoming like usual.
"I love you, Katsuki." He whispered when they broke apart. "I love you more than anything."
"Yeah." Bakugou nodded. "Right back atcha."
