CADE

"I told you I'd find you." Sterling says to me.

"And I told you to stay the hell away from my family." I fire back at him.

"You owe me." He says through gritted teeth.

"The hell I do. I got out of the business years ago!" I snap at him.

"Didn't your uncle teach you anything? Once you're in, there's only one way out!" He says.

"We both know that's bullshit!" I yell at him.

The next thing I knew, we were throwing punches at one another and ended up rolling on the floor, still throwing in punches along with a couple of kicks for what seems like forever.

There is blood on my knuckles and a bruise above my right eye. They say there'll be hell to pay, but I got what I wanted. my family's safe. The victory is mine. So if he wants another round I'll wait in the shadows, fists lowered cause my fists are faster than his. I know how you think, you're thinking of bringing a gun. I'm a sharp shooter too. I hit the target every single time. He knows that he is messing with the wrong person. I may not be back in a gang but there's one thing that he is right about and that's the fact that I am still a force to be reckoned with.

"I swear that no matter what you do and no matter where you and your family go, I will always come after you. Admit it, this lifestyle is in your blood. You can't just walk away from it." He spits out blood after telling me that.

"Watch me." I tell him. "Come near my family again and I swear that I will skin you alive."

Before he says another word I walk out the door and start making my way back home, after stopping by a gas station to clean myself up a little bit before seeing Penny and our son.

While pulling up in the driveway, I sit in the car before getting out and heading inside the house, trying to think about how to tell Penny about everything that is happening. I don't want to worry her but I can't keep her from all this. I take in a few deep breaths and let it out before getting out and heading inside the house. I see her standing in the kitchen cooking.

"Hey baby." I greet her with a kiss as I walk up behind her and kiss her.

"Hey honey. How was your day?" She asks and then her smile fades as soon as she see's my face. "What the hell happened?"

"I'm okay. But we need to talk." I begin. "Where's our amazing son?" I ask her.

"Charlie is at his friends house this weekend, why?" She asks me.

"Because there's something we need to talk about that's important and I don't want Charlie here." I tell her worried.

"Okay. Now you're freaking me out." She looks at me concerned.

"I have to tell you something that has happened in my past but has resurfaced recently and this might change everything." I begin.

When I am finished with the other stories, I will be posting the first chapter to this one, the sequel to My New Neighbor and to the story, The Reunion. So in a few weeks, more will come. I hope you'll like them and will let you know when they're up.
