Everyone seems to have moved on after Amanda's funeral. Ethan and his friends continue focusing on football, Kelsey returns back to being the number one head bitch, Nicole is trying out for cheerleading again and Grayson continues to admire me from afar. It's only been about a week, but the mention of Amanda Harding's name has been less and less around the halls.
Me? I can't seem to think about anything else. The last time I got a text was the funeral but that worries me. This person is still out there and who knows what they're planning now. I walk into first period expecting the class to stare at me, but this time nobody looks.
Crystal is sitting in her usual seat next to mine but I ignore her. I haven't spoken to her since the church. The bell rings and I mentally prepare myself for the day.
"Good morning class, we are going to be discussing last night's reading assignment." My teacher begins. "Does anyone have any questions about it before we start?" She looks around the room.
As a few students raise their hands, the phone rings. She walks over to it and answers the call. I look down at my binder and let out a small sigh.
"Okay, I will send them down." I hear her say before hanging up. "Rachel and Crystal, you are both wanted in Mr. Porter's office."
"What?" Crystal whispers next to me. I give her a confused look as I slowly stand up.
She grabs her bag and follows me out of the classroom. I have never been called down to the principal's office, ever.
"What do you think this is about?" She mumbles as we walk down the hallway.
"Most likely Amanda." I shrug, hoping she doesn't try to act all friendly with me.
I walk through the office door and my body freezes. Not only are Ethan and Grayson sitting down in the large lobby, but Nicole, Jeremy and Alex are with them along with Kelsey and Zachary.
"What's going on?" I look at my boyfriend with worried eyes.
Before Ethan can explain the situation to me, Mr. Porter approaches the nine of us. "Now that you are all here, we can begin."
"Begin what?" Jeremy asks, just as confused as I am.
A police officer walks into the lobby, holding out files in his hands. "Hello everyone, I'm Detective Martin and I'm investigating in Amanda Harding's murder case. I have been informed that you were all at the party on September fifth, correct?"
I watch as the people around me nod their head. I suddenly feel extremely nervous.
"You each gave statements to the police that night and I intend on going over each and every one of them to get the story straight."
"Isn't this illegal?" Alex asks as he sits up in his chair. "Don't we need to be in a police station for this?"
"It's okay, son." His father calms him.
"It's not illegal to question you." Detective Martin informs him. "I'm just trying my best to figure out how that night went down. Which one of you girls is Kelsey Allen?"
Kelsey raises her hand, but doesn't say a word.
"We'll start with you. You were the one who threw the party, correct?"
"Yes sir." She mumbles as she looks down.
"Where were your parents when this was happening?" The intimidating man asks.
"They were at a party of their own about thirty minutes away." She gulps.
"And did they know that alcohol was being distributed to minors?"
