Chapter 10: “Crazy little thing called love”
The malls darkness didn’t lighten when Logan was unconscious. If anything it became even darker. It seemed alive like a pet searching for a master that wasn’t there. Something was wrong but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Taking a deep breath I pull the rope out of my bag and start to tie him up. Once his wrists and arms are bound I start to drag him into the open hall and I still can’t help but feel like I’m being watched, I glance at Logan again but no change. Damn he’s heavier then he looks.
Once I manage to drag him to the main hall I shove him into a sitting position and I gag him. Standing up I look at my surroundings then pull out my phone. Fifteen minutes how could all of this have happened so fast it was crazy. Shit why did Dom have to say a half an hour. That stupid syringe thing Annabeth gave me wouldn’t work long we needed to get Logan out of here before he woke up. Gods don’t even know what he’d do. Deep breaths Mia, deep breaths. Think calming thoughts that don’t end with your boyfriend hacking you to little bits. I pull out my phone about to call Dom when something stops me. The darkness lifted, well it’s not gone but not nearly as heavy as it was before. I can’t just have a normal day can I? Turning the first thing I see is Logan’s eyes and they don’t look happy. Oh dear I’m in trouble. I hit five on my phone the same time Logan starts yelling through his gag. It rings three times Before Cleo picks up.
“Hey what are you doing I don’t think it’s a good idea to use are phones didn’t you say-“
“Cleo forget what I said I need you and everyone to get to the meeting place now.” I glance back at Logan and see him strungling with his bindings. Gods, why didn’t she give me more then one.
“Why what’s going on?”
“I found Logan and he’s not in great shape. I need you all to get here now. I don’t know how much longer I can contain him. Get down here as fast as you can.”
“I’ll get the others okay, everything’s going to be fine. Take a deep breath….are you breathing?”
“Not really.”
“You should be.”
“Cleo not the time just get everyone and get down here.” I hang up then shove my cell in my pocket. Damn it. Turning back I really forget how to breathe. He’s gone. The bindings on the floor. It’s torn to sheds. I look around wildly but I don’t see anything.
“Logan!” I scream and my voice bounce off the walls. As soon as the my echo ends his starts. It’s coming from everywhere. Up above, down below, from the walls. He’s everywhere at once. Logan’s unstable it’s not safe for me in here when he’s like this especially now that he has a real reason to hurt me. I practically ruffied the guy. We need to get out of here now. God I feel like I’m in Supernatural. Where are Sam and Dean when you need them? As calmly as I can I call Cleo, god I hope she remembers.
“Hey you okay?” She asks.
“Veto.”
“What are you-you don’t mean.”
“Veto.” I hang up then look around me. I slowly start counting to sixty trying to keep calm. Freshman year just goofing around we made up this stupid code just to mess with people. Pasta meant hot guy, hoot was hide, Caillou was pop quiz then probably most importantly Veto which means Run. When I get to sixty I look around in front of me is clear and that’s all I need. I run like I’ve never run before. I’m a foot from the door when I hear the scream, oh my god Cleo. I stop so fast I end up tripping over a renegade cart. I feel something sticky on the side of my head and wince. I hate bleeding. Trying to keep my balance I look around franticly for Cleo.
