A whisper of my heart

I'll never be a poet

I'm never going to be a poet
my words will never fit correctly
my poems will never be sold out
and once
some sort of time from now
I'll stop

I catch and drop
the pen one last time
but now
these feelings of mine
written down
suddenly stop me from drowning

and I trust them
because if nothing else
they keep reminding me
that everything that's honest
always fits correctly
