I remember sitting on the porch smoking a cigarette, a faint glow coming from the moon. It was the first sign of summer. And this moth, I watched it. How it kept going towards the porch light. The way it would falter and continue back and forth after the slight zap. I briefly wondered why I was so attracted to things that would ultimately kill me.
