CHAPTER 7
The next few days I hadn't heard from Loki, I spent most of my time around the castle and spent time with Thor. When he isn't talking about war, he is actually nice to talk to, but I'm still unsure about marrying him.
So far Thor and I have become good friends, but neither one of us bring up the betrothal. Anytime something relevant to our arranged marriage comes up things start to get awkward, especially since he also told me about his ex-lover, Jane.
I spent most of the week in the library. We had a library back in Alfheim as well, but it was nowhere near the size of the Asgardian royal library.
I walked into the library for the hundredth time that week and started looking through the shelves.
As I was turning a corner of the shelf I bumped into a wall. I looked up and saw that it wasn't a wall that I bumped into, it was Loki.
"You should watch where you are going." He said nonchalantly.
"Bumping into people is a two-person job, if you had been watching where you were going as well, I wouldn't have bumped into you," I told him still pissed at his behaviour from last week.
"I am not going to waste my time arguing with you about something so trivial. What are you even doing here?" he asked.
"I'm hunting for dark elves. What can a person possibly do in a library Loki? Read."
"I don't appreciate your sarcasm, what is your problem? I hadn't done anything wrong to you." He asked frustrated.
I sighed and looked to the ground "nothing, nothing is wrong." I told him realising that last week's event was insignificant. "What are you doing here?" I asked him, trying to make conversation.
"Well as you so pleasantly pointed out, I am reading, as that is what one does in a library. I've actually been here most of this week." He answered.
"Wait, you have?" I questioned considering that I also have been here all week, and not once have I caught sight of him.
"Yes, that is what I just said. Where you not paying attention?"
"No, it's just that I've been here all week, and I haven't seen you at all." I revealed.
"Well, it is a big library." He pointed out.
"I guess, yeah it is." I agreed.
We ended up sitting at a couch together silently reading to ourselves. I enjoyed Loki's company. Even if he was incredibly arrogant and contemptuous, he was fun to be around. But I would never tell him that, if his head gets any bigger I fear it might explode.
We somehow ended up in a position where his arm was around me, hand on my waist, and my head on his chest.
I inhaled his intoxicating scent, he smelled of vanilla, leather and aftershave. I smiled to myself thinking about Loki shaving, the white foam all over his face like a beard. Just the thought of it was hilarious.
"What are you smiling at?" Loki asked looking down at me with a slight smile.
"You." I answered smiling up at him.
"Hmmm, and what about me have you found amusing?" He asked as he put both our books down and pulled me closer to him grinning.
"I'm not telling." I told him cheekily.
"You can either tell me, or I can just go through that pretty mind of yours and figure it out myself." He challenged.
Giving up I told him, "I was thinking about how utterly ridiculous you must look with shaving cream on."
Loki laughed
"Stop laughing!" I yelled at him trying to get out of his grip, but that only led him to pull me closer into him. At the moment everything was perfect, I wasn't worried about my engagement, my parents, my brother, all thoughts vanished, and Loki and I were the only significant things in the universe.
Loki started leaning closer.
my heart started beating like never before. This time i swear it is going to fly out of my chest.
We both closed our eyes and when our lips were a just breath away,Thor came running into the room. "Brother! Katherine! Where are you two?" Boomed Thor's voice, causing Loki and I to sit up groaning.
"Imbecile." Muttered Loki, standing up pulling me up with him.
"We're here, Thor." I told him walking up to him to see what the fuss was about.
"What is it that you want?" Loki asked clearly irritated.
"Father is calling us all to the throne room." Thor told us.
"Do you know why?" I asked him also irritated that he ruined the possible moment between Me and Loki.
"I don't know." Thor answered honesty.
"Then move out of our way so that we can go see what it is that he wants." Loki told him impatiently, pushing him to the side his hand still holding mine.

When we arrived at the throne room Odin was seated on the throne. Is that what he does all day? I questioned.
'No, it isn't. He is far too busy cleaning up the messes I make.'
I looked at Loki who was just smirking to himself.
"I have organised a ball in honour of the engagement, i expect you all there." Odin said getting straight to the point.
"When will it take place?" Thor asked.
"In three days." Odin answered.
Great now I'm forced to attend a ball where everyone will congratulate me on an engagement I had no say in.
"If that is all, me and Katherine have plans." And with that Loki pulled me outside.
"Where are we going?" I asked him as we walked further into the castle.
"It's a surprise."
"That's what you said before you took me to the garden. Are we going to the garden again?" I asked him, getting curious.
"Maybe, maybe not." He simply told me.
"That's not a valid answer." I said to him my curiosity growing by the minute.
"You will survive." he said as we walked into the hall that contained the royal sleeping chambers.
" Please just tell me." I begged.
"We are going to finish what we started in the library." Loki smirked opening the doors to his chambers.
