14- Drunk Arguments

CHAPTER 14

"Enough!" Odin's voice echoed in the library, gaining the attention of everyone in the room.

"Fine, Loki you are now first in line for throne and Katherines betrothed, now if you will excuse me, I have a kingdom to run." Odin declared, before turning around and exiting the library.

I couldn't believe it. Loki and I will get married, it felt like a dream come true. I threw myself in Loki's arms, embracing him in a tight hug. Loki lifted my chin and kissed my forehead. "I told you we would get through this." He whispered.

The next week was a bit difficult.  Jane still hates me, but I don't really mind. All I really need is Loki, unfortunately, he was always occupied with board meetings and security council meetings.

I walked through the castle trying to find something to do. His new duties as next in line kept him busy sometimes, leaving me utterly bored.

"What are you doing here?" Sif's voice startled me.

"Trying to find something to do." I turned to face her.

"What happened to your beloved fiancé?" she asked crossing her arms and arching a brow.

"Busy," I sighed "He's caught up with his new royal duties."

"That's too bad." Sif frowned.

"Yeah, it is." I agreed.

"Well, since you have nothing to do, would you care to join me and the warriors three for drinks?" Sif offered, grinning.

"Sure, I would love to." I smiled back at her.

Sid and the warriors three were actually fun to be around. In a matter of minutes, all of us were either drunk or a bit tipsy.

"And that's when I plunged the sword into the beast's mouth!" yelled Fandral throwing his arms in the air barely keeping his eyes open.

"Didn't you say that the beast was dead when you found it?" I asked him, gulping down my beer.

"Yes, but the rest of the men didn't know that. I told them all I killed the beast myself." Fandral laughed at his dexterity, along with the rest of us.

"Did they ever find out?" asked Hogun taking another swing of his drink.

"Nope." Smirked Fandral.

Sif chuckled to herself. "Of course, you would take advantage of an already dead animal. You could never actually kill one yourself."

"That is not true!" Yelled Fandral, "I could have very easily killed that beast if it were alive!"

"No, you couldn't" Volstagg cut in laughing.

"Oh, really. How about you, what would you have done?" Fandral sneered at him.

"I would have left him alone. I am not desperate for attention like you." Volstagg stood up walking closer to Fandral. It was at that moment that the two drunk men started throwing punches like no tomorrow. Hogun tried to separate them only to receive a rather nasty punch himself.

"What is happening in here?" Thor bellowed as he walked into the room with his hammer in one hand and Jane in the other.

"He accused me of being an unworthy warrior!" Fandral hissed.

"The only thing you care about is women fawning over you! You do not care about actual justice!" Volstagg accused.

"The both of you need to calm down!" Yelled Thor.

After the fight was over Fandral and Volstagg huffed in anger before retreating to their chambers.

"We should go check on them" Hogun whispered to Sif before the two of them walked after the two angry men.

"Katherine, how have you been?" Asked Thor oblivious to the death glare coming from the small woman on his arm.

"I have been well." I smiled at him.

"That is good to hear. Will you be attending the feast tomorrow?"

"Yes, I will. Will you be there as well?"

"Yes, Jane and I will both be attending." He smiled at Jane who quickly returned the gesture.

"That is great. I will see you there. Right now, I must go to Loki, he should be out of the board meeting by now." After saying our goodbyes, I quickly left the room and walked towards Loki's chambers.

When I opened his door, he was nowhere in sight. "Loki?" I called out knocking on his bathroom door before opening it. Empty, of course.

After giving up I concluded that Loki was still at his board meeting and went to my own chambers.

Once I was in my room I changed into my night gown and went to bed. I guess I can see him tomorrow at the feast.

I felt a presence in my bed. And turned around to greet my late night visitor.
