Awsten Knight was probably the most uninteresting boy in the universe. He had brown hair, dressed like a dork, kept to himself and sat in the middle of the cafeteria with ten of his geeky friends; the friends who probably didn't care about him but were too afraid to admit it, that is. He wasn't interested in sports, gaming or those dumb baseball cards. He didn't care about what the latest fashion was, and he didn't care that all the popular kids thought that his green high-tops made him look tacky and gay.

Overall, Awsten Knight was the plainest person in the universe. He got through his days at school almost silently, other than throwing insults at his maths teacher every once in a while or complaining that running track in gym should be considered a punishment not an assessment.

On a particularly normal Wednesday morning, or as Awstens younger sister referred to it as 'hump day', Awsten was walking to school. He hated riding his bike, as it really hurt his ass. His bag was too heavy, because his math teacher gave him extra homework for calling him an asshole with an alcohol problem. Which was entirely true, okay?!

He ran a hair through his greasy hair, making a mental note to wash it when he got home. He wouldn't but it was nice to pretend he would. Awsten turned down a street. He could see the school from where he was; it was a mere twenty metres away now. It looked like it was about to rain today, which was great. Maybe he could get out of gym?

Awsten kept his head down as he entered the school. He was very self conscious about his new braces. He shuffled up to his grey locker and unlocked the door, opening it up to shove some books in to make his bag lighter. He slammed the locker shut, probably too loudly because a bunch of people looked at him weirdly. Awsten walked away with a blush coating his cheeks.

Geoff Wigington woke up too early again. He was too excited. He'd been spending months writing it. He couldn't form - or spell - the right words to tell him. Geoff pulled his achy body out of bed, pulling on the first clothes he could find. He looked into the mirror, rolling his eyes. He looked like he was either about to shoot up a school or sell cocaine to someone. He stripped again, pulling on skinny jeans and a random Kirby shirt he found in the back of his closet. Geoff made sure he had the letter, looking over the envelope. He frowned. It was too plain. Geoff sat at his desk, sketching a messy love heart with his initials on the inside of it. Geoff smiled proudly at his terrible writing and stuffed the letter into his backpack. He pulled his backpack on and walked downstairs, muttering a hello to his father. He never got responses. "Make sure to take your meds today, dad," Geoff said. Ever since his mother died his father was just.. blank. It hurt, but Geoff dealt with it as best he could.

He went outside and grabbed his bike, hurriedly riding off. He'd taken so long getting dressed this morning- he was going to be late for school. He rode off quickly, weaving through cars and trucks as he crossed the large highway in front of his house. He eventually passed over the bridge running over a creek, which meant he was close to the school. He checked his watch - three minutes until the bell went. Geoff ditched his bike behind a tree, knowing that the druggies would fuck with it if he left it in the bike racks. Geoff ran into the school corridor, hearing the bell go. He hurriedly ran to his locker, shoving the letter in shakily. He gulped nervously, then ran off to his class.

Awsten heard the bell ring, which made his insides churn. His fucking English homework- how could he have forgotten?! He ran back to his locker, hurrying to open the lock. The hallway was empty now, the sounds of his footsteps echoing through the hall. He opened it, an envelope falling out. Awsten frowned, taking his English book out and picking up the letter. He shut his locker and shoved the letter into his book, running off to his class.

oops I did it again
