Geoff hurried to pull on clothes, throwing dirty underwear into his laundry basket. He made his bed quickly and opened his window, looking over at his desk. "Shit," he hurried to hide a letter. He went back downstairs, a blush on his face. "Hi. Sorry."
"I feel like you don't remember asking me to come over." Awsten giggled.
"No, no, I don't.." Geoff laughed awkwardly. He looked over at Sarah, who was smirking. Obviously she'd asked him to come over and used Geoff's phone. "Wanna come upstairs?"
"Okay," Awsten grinned. He followed Geoff upstairs. "How was your sleep?" Awsten asked, going and sitting on Geoff's bed. He winced at the quiet crackle of the thing he had to wear.
—
"Awsten," Jack came in. "We're going to have to change the chemo dosages again. The drug I put you on is affecting your nerves near your bladder, and if I don't change it you could be prone to permanent urinary incontinence. We'll set up a program to help strengthen your bladder," Jack said. "For now, you'll have to go to the toilet every half an hour. We can offer wearing some form of protection, like a diaper?"
"No way." Awsten said immediately.
"We'll take the diaper." Ginny said.
—
"It was.. interesting," Geoff laughed awkwardly, sitting next to Awsten. "I had the weirdest fucking dream."
"What was it?" Awsten asked. "Did you dream about me?" He teased, smiling.
"Uh.. Yeah, actually," Geoff mumbled. "Something about memories. I dunno, it was weird."
"What memories?" Awsten asked.
"Well, I think that it was just the most important ones. It was in the future. We were older," Geoff said awkwardly. "We were uh.. like.. married. And had a baby. Uh, your hair falling out was one of the memories. My mom dying. My moms funeral," He left out the part where everyone turned into his father. "It was mayhem."
Awsten blushed. "You wanna marry me?" He asked. "That's cute."
Geoff winced. Now everything was awkward and Awsten probably though he was a fucking weirdo. Why did he say that? He was so dumb.
"I wanna marry you too," Awsten said. He inched closer to Geoff, pressing a kiss to the boys cheek. "What was the baby like?"
"Beautiful," Geoff said quickly, looking down at his lap. "His name was Oliver."
"Was he mine or yours?" Awsten asked, reaching up to tangle his fingers into Geoff's hair. He played with the curls, smiling.
"I think he was mine. I'm not sure," Geoff said quietly. "I don't know if I'd ever have a baby. I think I'd be too scared, plus I can barely take care of myself," Geoff said. "And I don't want to be like my dad. I don't want to mess up a kid like that."
Awsten nodded. He wrapped his arms around Geoff's middle. "I think I would have a baby, but I don't have a uterus and I don't want them to have my genes," Awsten said. "I don't want to have my kids at risk for cancer."
Geoff nodded. He wrapped an arm around Awsten, pulling the tiny boy closer. "We could adopt," he said. "That would be good. Would we do it before or after we get married?"
"We put the paperwork in before we get married so we won't have to wait as long. Will that work? I think so," Awsten said. "What was our wedding like?"
"It was in a church," Geoff laughed quietly. "I wouldn't want to get married in a church."
"Neither," Awsten mumbled. He leaned into Geoff's shoulder. "We could get married somewhere beautiful. Like a flower field. I love flowers."
"I love flowers too," Geoff said quietly. He looked down at the boy in his arms, a smile playing on his lips. "Kiss me."
Awsten smiled and nodded. He cupped Geoff's face and pulled him closer, pressing their foreheads together. He looked into Geoff's eyes. "Thank you." He whispered.
"For what?" Geoff asked, putting his hands on Awstens back.
"Making me feel human when I'm so alien," Awsten whispered. "I don't even have any eyebrows but you pretend like I'm still beautiful."
"That's because you are beautiful," Geoff said quietly. "I think you're gorgeous."
"And I think you're wrong." Awsten said. He leant in and pressed their lips together, gently moving them against Geoff's until they found a rhythm.
Geoff melted into Awstens touch. He wanted this to last forever. He tried to pull Awsten closer but the angle was really weird. He vouched for just rubbing the boys back.
Awsten pulled away from the kiss. He blushed and looked down at his lap, very shy all of a sudden. He felt butterflies erupt in his stomach.
"Awsten?" Geoff asked. "What are we?"
Awsten thought for a while. "Whatever you want us to be," He said quietly. "Husbands. Boyfriends. Fiancés. Friends."
"Husbands," Geoff giggled. "That's so weird," he looked down at Awsten. "Want to be husbands?" He asked. "We can do married couple things. Holding hands, cooking together, cuddling.." Geoff trailed off, smiling. "Would you be my husband?"
Awsten giggled. "Don't we have to be boyfriends first?" He asked.
"True," Geoff said. He pressed a kiss to Awstens cheek. "Lets be boyfriends then." He felt his heart begin to pound. He was Awsten Knights boyfriend.
"Boyfriends. I like that," Awsten smiled. "I'll introduce you as my boyfriend to people. I'll be like, 'Hi mom, this is my boyfriend Geoff. He's gorgeous isn't he?'"
"Stop!" Geoff squealed. He blushed. "I'm gonna cry, stop." He wrapped his arms around Awsten tightly. "You're so perfect." He buried his face in Awstens neck, pressing gentle kisses to the boys protruding collarbones.
Awsten giggled, running his fingers through Geoff's hair. "You're perfect-er. That's not a word but it should be, because you really are more perfect than me. You make me happy. You give me butterflies. You make me feel good." Awsten mumbled. He pressed a kiss to the top of Geoff's head.
"I never want to let go of you," Geoff whispered. "Kiss me, Awsten. Please."
