Awsten sat at his locker, thumbing through the letters and counting them in awe. Five in total. He felt so fucking special. He put them into his bag and shut his locker, wheeling off to his first class which just happened to be science with Geoff, Grace and Otto. He had taken a liking to science ever since he found out his friends were in it. He was really fucking nervous about Otto and Grace seeing him in the wheelchair. He knew Geoff wouldn't tease him about it because he already knew, so that calmed him down a little bit.

Awsten wheeled his way into the small classroom, his face going beet red. Everyone was watching him and talking about him. He wheeled down to the back of the class, sitting on his normal corner table with his friends. The table he was at was in a square shape. Grace and Otto sat across from each other, and Geoff sat across from Awsten. As much as he disliked the teacher, he liked that they were allowed to put their tables together as long as they did work.

"Dude, what the fuck?" Otto whispered to Awsten. He frowned. "What happened?"

Awsten looked down at the table in embarrassment.

"Hey, lay off him." Geoff said firmly.

"Oo, Geoffys getting protective," Otto teased, giggling when a blush creeped up Geoff's neck.

"No I'm not." Geoff mumbled angrily, crossing his arms. He pouted and looked at the ground.

Awsten wanted to cry. He knew that everyone was still fucking staring at him.

"Too much anal with Geoff?" Otto whispered to Awsten.

"Oh my god!" Awsten gasped, covering his red face. "Geoff's not even gay!"

Geoff went redder because no Awsten, I'm so gay. I'm so fucking gay and I'm so fucking gay for you.

Otto laughed again, gently elbowing Awsten. "Whatever-" he looked over at Geoff. "Geoff, would you fuck pretty boy?"

Geoff choked, his eyes bulging out of his skull. Yesyesyes. "No! No way," Geoff stuttered, looking down at the table. He shook his head. "Not at all," His voice cracked and he sounded like a ten year old again. "Otto, you suck."

"Well-well you know what? A-at least I'm not an idiot!" Otto mentally facepalmed. Fuck, he was so bad at those. The awkward silence at the table basically told him to shut up. He decided to stop teasing them both because Awsten and Geoff looked absolutely horrified at the idea of being together. "Seriously though dude, what's with the wheels?" Otto asked again.

"I don't think it's the best place to talk about it right now.." Awsten said quietly.

He felt a hand touch his thigh. Awsten smiled to himself, placing his own hand over it. He looked over at Geoff, giggling softly.

Grace kicked Otto under the table gently to get his attention. She pointed to the two boys and made a circle with one hand, putting a finger into it.

Otto nodded, rolling his eyes. "So gay." He mouthed.

By the time lunch had come around, Otto had pestered Awsten about the wheelchair about a million times. Whether it was asking to ride in it, why he was in it or if it really was from anal, the questions never ended and got more annoying by the second.

"Sit down, Otto," Grace pulled him into the chair next to her, frowning and pulling a leaf out of his long curly hair. She smiled when the boy wrapped an arm around her shoulders and kissed the top of her head. "Be quiet, he's gonna tell us." Grace whispered.

"Okay.." Awsten moved a chair and wheeled next to Geoff. He reached under the table for Geoff's hand, his eyes widening in horror because that was not a hand.

Geoff choked on his food, his eyes wide.

Awsten fucking knight just touched his dick.

Oh my god.

He bit down onto his bottom lip, suppressing the urge to get a boner at the thought of Awsten doing it again. He reached over under the table and took Awstens hand, gently rubbing his thumb over the back of it. "Y-you can do it." Geoff assured.

"Okay," Awsten whispered. "S-So.. you know how I've been really sick recently and I've missed out on quite a bit of school?" Awsten felt like all noise around him from the cafeteria just didn't exist anymore. It was like he was the only voice in the cafeteria. "I went to the doctors and they ran some tests on me. I-it turns out-" he looked down at the table. "I have Leukemia. Blood cancer. And I started chemo yesterday. My legs and arms didn't react well a-and I'm having a lot more trouble than usual. My legs are numb other than random burst of pain. Sometimes my fingers go tingly and I can't use them." He looked up at his friends. Geoff had that same puppy dog look that made Awsten want to cuddle him to make him feel better. Otto looked horrified. Grace was close to tears.

Grace was the first to speak. "A-Awsten, I am so sorry," she reached over the table and took ahold of his hand. "I promise I'll be there for you whenever you need me. That's what friends are for."

Otto nodded. "M-me too, Awsten," He was in complete shock. He didn't even register that he was crying. Otto didn't remember the last time he cried. "I'll always be around to help. I-if you need me anywhere, I'll be there. Can I help? Can we help?" He gestured to Grace.

"Not really," Awsten said quietly. "Just.. please don't leave me?"

"Never," Grace said. "Never ever."

Geoff took his hand out of Awstens and wrapped it around his shoulder. "I'm so proud of you, baby," He whispered. He shakily leant forward and pressed a kiss to Awstens cheek, which would usually make him cum in his fucking pants but Awsten really needed love at the moment. "So proud."

Awsten went red and looked up at Geoff. He could feel his heart beating in his chest. "Thank you." He whispered back, resting his head on Geoff's shoulder. He looked over at Otto and Grace, watching them high five. He was confused, but he didn't mind. He took a sip from his water bottle, just watching his three friends talk.

He was so happy at the moment.

He was so glad that he had friends that cared about him.
