Geoff ran downstairs, ignoring his father completely. He got onto his bike and rode off to Ottos house, watching as the sun set. He rode over the highway, almost getting hit by a truck in the process. He rode over the bridge and sped off, going down the street outside of the school gates. He turned down a street, passing by Awstens house on the way there. He was actually getting really nervous. He turned down another street and pulled up in Ottos driveway, putting his bike down. He knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer it.

"Oh, hello Geoff!" Ottos Mom opened the door. "You here to see Otto?"

"Yes, Mrs Wood," Geoff said. "Is that alright?"

"Of course. He's up in his room," she shut the door behind Geoff, watching him go up to Ottos room. "Have fun!"

Geoff burst into Ottos room, shutting the door behind him. "What's up, bitch?"

"I'm sleeping, go away," Otto mumbled, throwing a pillow at Geoff. "You're so annoying. Why are you here?"

"W-well.. I had to tell you something," Geoff said quietly. He climbed onto Ottos bed and shoved a pillow under his head, looking up at the ceiling. "It's really important to me and I'm really nervous to talk to you about it," he looked over at Otto, gently tugging on his long curly hair. "Are you listening?"

Otto gently pushed Geoff away, pouting. "Yes. Tell me already." Otto turned on his side, looking at Geoff.

Geoff turned to face Otto. He could feel his palms getting sweaty and his mouth going dry. "Promise you won't laugh? B-because I'm really nervous and I haven't told anyone this other than my sisters a-and I just.." Geoff felt himself getting emotional.

"Hey, it's okay buddy," Otto said gently. He could tell that this was really important to Geoff and he wasn't just messing around. "You can tell me."

"Ive wanted to tell you but I'm scared that you'll laugh or not wanna be my friend anymore!" Geoff said quickly. "You're my best friend and- and you've been my best friend through absolutely everything and I don't want you to hate me."

"I'd never hate you, Gee," Otto said. "You're my best friend too. I care about you. Now what is it?"

Tears formed in Geoff's eyes. Why was he so emotional? Why couldn't he just tell Otto? "I-I.." Geoff whispered. "It's about me."

"Did you do something bad?" Otto asked cautiously.

"No," Geoff said. "I don't think I did." He felt tears slide down his cheeks.

"I won't laugh," Otto repeated. "Never."

"I-it's about someone that I love. Th-the people that I love." Geoff whispered, sitting up. He crossed his legs and put the pillow in his lap.

"Okay," Otto sat up too, crossing his legs opposite Geoff. "Go on."

"And.. I-I've thought about it for years. Since I was fourteen," Geoff whispered. "I found that I wasn't really looking at girls the same way you were. I found that I-I wasn't nervous around them and I didn't want to kiss them. A-and when I was fifteen, I realised I didn't really see myself with girls," he said quietly. "When I was sixteen I had my first crush. A-and-" Geoff started to cry.

"It's okay, it's okay.." Otto wrapped his arms around Geoff.

"And I was so scared to tell you. I was so scared to tell anyone because what I was feeling was unnatural. But I see you wi-with Awsten and you don't care that he's gay s-so maybe you won't care if I'm gay a-and-" Geoff paused, his eyes wide.

He'd done it.

He'd just admitted that he was gay to his best friend.

"Are you gay, Geoff?" Otto asked gently.

He nodded shakily, tears falling onto Ottos shirt. "Y-yeah, Otto. I am. I'm gay. I like- I love boys. I-I don't like girls, I tried so hard to like them but it's impossible," He cried. "I'm sorry."

"You can't help it, Gee. You gotta love who you were meant to love," Otto squeezed Geoff tightly. "I love you buddy. And I accept you."

Geoff broke out into a smile, still crying. "Thank you," He whispered. "Thank you so much, Otto."

It was quite a surprise to Otto, if he was being honest. Geoff was really good at keeping secrets but he didn't know he could keep secrets for that long.

The two boys just stayed there, hugging. Otto knew Geoff needed it, and Geoff was very thankful.
